The PSAT really covers Algebra 1 and Geometry. The only Algebra 2 that is on the test is really covered in Algebra 1. I got a 64 on the math section in 9th grade only after taking Algebra 1 and Geometry.

But good luck to all who are taking it. I had to sit out this year because I wouldn’t have had ample time to prepare for it like I would’ve liked to. But, the December SAT will cover for it. (I’m applying to a boarding school this year)

I’m trying not to think too hard about the PSAT and just worry about grades. In the end soph PSAT hardly matters But I won’t lie, I’ll be upset if I don’t do well.

I’m planning on taking PLAN this year before taking the PSAT in my school during my junior. Do you guys think that would be a good choice? I’m just taking it since apparently the ACT is the preferred test in my state.

My school mandates the EXPLORE, PLAN and all other tests leading up to the ACT (the state of IL is pretty big on the ACT). It really doesn’t matter because the PLAN has no impacting effect on your high school career, in comparison to the PSAT. It only measures your likely score on the ACT, with no actual reward like the PSAT.

I take the PSATs next Saturday, October 15. I’m not THAT worried about getting a good score, but I hope it’ll be above a 200 with all scores added together…

We take the PSAT the 15th, and I am so excited!!! im pretty sure im only going to get about an 1800 or a 1900, but i kind of cant wait… im so weird! haha but my grades are suffering… worse than most of yours Speaking of which, HAS ANYONE STARTED THAT AP BIO STUDY GROUP?? I would absolutely LOVE it if someone could send me a link or something!! AP bio is one of my worse grades and another study group would be aweseom!!! please and thank you??

also, can someone explain PLAN? ive never heard of it…

I took the SAT in 7th grade and I got a 680 in the math section, at that point I was halfway through algebra 1 and not started on geometry. And I got a 76 my freshman year. You guys will probably do great lol

My IB higher level math class is killing me though. Who knew so much stuff could be included in trig… and we have a test tomorrow. And a review packet due. And I haven’t started T.T

I haven’t missed anything apparently. I had no Internet at home because some renovations were being done to the living room. Also, yesterday was my birthday! I’m now 15!

Happy belated birthday Evan and happy birthday Studious!

Just curious, do you happen to live in fairfax county Studious? (inb4youaskedthisalready)

Edit: @Rokr, I don’t know it’ll be brutal for everyone but I’ve never had to study for a math test in my life (minus some cramming in algebra 2) and now this year I don’t understand half the problems I’m given. Really doesn’t help that all the homeworks are graded based on accuracy and there’s no time in class to go over the homework.

If you’re even thinking about doing both HL and AP calc you’ll probably be fine but HL includes stuff you learn in both AB and BC calc or something like that (from what I’ve heard.) So the material might be really redundant.
