High School Class of 2015

Man, everyone’s getting 5s on their AP exams. Good job, nerdofawesome. Seriously though,I’m not taking an AP exam until junior year. You lucky people! Haha.

Nice job guys… I got a 5 on Calc BC (AB subscore 5), and a 4 on World History (self-study). I’m happy :). @imsoambitious, did you self-study all of those? ;P

First week of Special Olympics camp was over. It was such a blast.

Honestly, I just do the Special Olympics stuff for fun. The only SO related thing I’d put on an application would be the fact that I am the president of the Partners Club in our school.

Great job with the scores everyone!

@thiruvin yeah

Dang it.Still haven’t gotten mine.

@ImSoAmbitious

Thomas Jefferson School of Math and Sciences. Best school in America.

All of you make me seem like an underachiever… I got a 4 in WHAP.

I really wish I self studied AP Psychology before, but oh well.

@dundunyang

I am aware, my school administration admires them greatly and is trying to model after them. We are top 20.

@ImSoAmbitious In the nation? My high school is top 1650.

Most of you come from top 50 schools it seems

I go to the top public school in the state according to US News. I don’t believe it though, because the school with the highly gifted program didn’t even make the top 10. Something about that seems fishy.

Yes, top 20 in the nation for Math and Science. I don’t know how much of a good thing this is. It is ultra competitive, we have shitty facilities, limited flexibility, classes are crzy difficult, tons of homework, grade deflation(7-point system), no funding, and teachers are not very good. I guess the advantages would be prestige, my peers(even though most of my class is filled with idiots), school culture, selection of elective courses, and our academic teams murder the state competition and do very well at nations(but its crazy hard to get on them, you have to be a baller in that subject area). And our sports teams do pretty well besides football and mens basketball. It actually really easy to get accepted to. Even if your a total dumbas, you will get accepted if you are in the district. If you are out of district, a lottery is used to fill the remaining spots. A bunch of idiots in the district got in, but the 2 time state math league champion didn’t.

Hello everyone in the class of 2015!!! :slight_smile:
Here is my sophomore schedule for next year:
English 2 Honors
Algebra 2 Honors
Geometry Honors
Chemistry Honors
Psychology AP
French AP
Studio Art: Drawing Portfolio AP

What do u incoming sophomores think of it? I wanna get into top schools later on… What are some good things to do?

Pretty decent schedule. Art APs are very hard I hear. Make sure to do some ECs that u enjoy.

@rorochi Are you on block scheduling?

All i can say is MAKE THE MOST OF YOUR TIME!
I feel like I was a freshie last year, and Im going into my senior year now. SO seriously don’t rush through high school. Enjoy it and don’t spend all your time studying. Im assuming most of you are nerds considering you are already on this site. Lol.

I’m pretty jealous of your guys’ academic opportunities! I go to a public school in California that is on probation. Just gotta make the most of it wherever we are.

@ClassOf2015HS we actually were on block scheduling last year when I was a freshman, but they suddenly switched the schedules to 7 classes a day, 50mins each:(
it’s gonna be a really though adjustment… Oh and if anyone is on this schedule, please help! Lol

@Rorochi Im on a 7 classes a day 56 minutes each schedule

modified block

Lists like that are very subjective…I believe US News rankings are based on AP exam results, and that’s definitely not the only way to rate a school…I mean, my school just made top 2,000, while another school nearby that is often considered “ghetto” and violent came in a ways higher because of its better AP scores. Another school in the next county over just missed the Top 20 of the nation, but up until then it was rarely even regarded as Top 10 in the county. Oh and btw many many schools were unranked by US News.

US News’ rankings for high schools are based on AP exam results? Not coooool. :O
