High School Class of 2015

Have any of you ever read Samarkand by Amin Maalouf?

@Cowboy112 Oh really? Is it really difficult to keep up with your classes?

@Classof2015hs

Yes, It is a great novel.

haha dont go by us news rating. its the number of people that take aps over total number of students. and the top schools just dump their kids in aps. my school is number one in state and like 43 in nation. thats cuz we have about 40 aps i think. top kids of nj here. most people think its a private school.
im taking ap world history, ap psi physics b, algebra 2, french 2, world literature, biology

I am class of 2015!!!

Welcome, Literature.

What books have you read this summer?

@Rorochi its not to difficult, It gets boring though in the middle months because you do the same thing every day(For the most part)

@Classof2015hs - Is that an open question or a reference (pun, maybe?) to Literature’s username? Aha.

What ECs are you guys doing next year?

Either student theatre company or jv soccer…I don’t know which to do :\ Also science club, international language club, badminton club in spring, and most likely academic decathalon. I’ll be joining the school newspaper and NHS hopefully junior year (when these two clubs become available for juniors then).

How about you?

Asia club, HOSA club, Lit magazine, volunteering, physics olympics, quiz bowl team, anddd that’s all!

Drama Club
Science Contest Club
Environmental Club
GSA (I’ll be the treasurer  )

Just got my schedule. Funny thing is, I didn’t choose most of these classes.

Honors Chemistry
Honors Geometry
Honors English II
World History (I had a 97% in World Geography (no honors offered), don’t see why I wouldn’t get in to honors)
Music Appreciation (Didn’t ask for this)
Personal Finance (Didn’t ask for this)
Spanish III

And second semester I didn’t choose public speaking, which I happened to receive. Rather angered…

Maybe you could try getting some schedule changes with your counselor before school starts.

I’ll be doing cross country (not sure if JV or varsity yet), Model UN, National German Honors Society, Key Club, and hopefully JV soccer

I’m gonna jump in. I was planning on doing Gardening Club, Big Sis-Little Sis, the Writing Club, and the Chemistry Club… because of reasons. I’m kinda stuck between wanting school and wanting sleep.

Welcome, awkotaco.

Ehh, I did student theatre company this year, and I also didn’t do any sports. I don’t know if I want to do jv soccer, because that would mean dropping drama club. Whichever one I choose, I plan on sticking through with for the rest of my high school years.

Soccer (during the fall only)involves practices ending at 6pm on schooldays, whereas drama (during the fall & winter) is once to three times a week, ending at 5-6pm.

I want to have a minor or a second major in theatre when I get to college…but I also want to take part in a sport in order to be eligible for a sports award for the program I’m in senior year.

Does anyone have any advice regarding which one I should choose? I know there’s other sports, but most of them don’t appeal to me.

Collegefountain, I’m going through the exact same thing. I have to choose between Club Running and Drama. If I choose Drama I’d end my day around 5-6 also but if I do Club Running I’d end at 6pm. I don’t think I’d go to the gym as much as I say I would if I chose Drama but still :/

Oh man. Well, it’s good to know I’m not the only one in this kind of a situation, awkotaco. At least we have about a month (more or less) to think it through. Gahhh.
