<p>I’m a new member here on CC but I have been reading the forums forever. My name is Elizabeth. I go to a very competitive(and successful) all girls private prep school. Sophomore year is the hardest grade at my school. I don’t really know what else to say so that’s all for now! Just wanted to introduce myself.</p>
<p>@AlexHarper, oh that is unfortunate for you. I am speaking of the AP Exam, which you can self-study from scratch in one night LOL. Its one of the easiest ones. Psychology is also that easy, I self-studied that last year from scratch the weekend before the exam, and I believe I overstudied. Also, are you doing the NIH research internship which you have to apply for or an informal one? </p>

<p>I’ve completed 400 hours of volunteering so far.
EC’s: I’m in the top international award-winning choir at my school as a first soprano as one of two sophomores, I am in Masquers-- the top acting troupe at my school, I participate in statewide choir events as well as music scholarships, I’m a self-taught cellist and I also play violin, guitar, and upright I participate in state orchestras as first chair upright bass, I volunteer at my local hospital and I work specifically in the Pediatric Hemotology/Oncology clinic, and I participate in a lot of musical theatre groups. I am also thinking about joining track. </p>
<p>It’s only sophomore year so I only have a couple awards: several music and choir awards from school, but I did get a state award for achieving a 5-octave vocal range as a young female, and a nomination for a National Youth Arts Award for Best Lead Actress in a Musical. I also got the Top 25 award for academics at my school, and another Presidential Academic award thing.</p>
<p>School starts for me in 2 weeks. My ECs are pretty lacking (not that I didnt try):</p>
<p>I was in debate club and room to read last year (tried to be dedicated but the people who run the club were all seniors and got too busy to do a whole lot).</p>
<p>I’m currently in an internship for the DNC (democratic national convention) probably get 30+ hours by the end of it…</p>
<p>Also gonna be in Student Council this year (pretty competitive) </p>
<p>Hopefully I’ll get involved in Swim team, Track, NHS, Beta Club, Mu Alpha Theta, and Young Life.</p>
