Your swim schedule doesn’t seem that bad honestly. Just time management. You only have practice 2 hours and it is straight after school which is good so then you can do all your school work after. And if thats your only extra curricular, you are in good shape. That gives you almost 5 hours to eat, shower, do homework and get to bed at a reasonable time.

yeah, that schedule is not bad at all.

Could someone critique how I am doing so far?

^ bro, chill. you’re more than good.

@bcorganizationco I agree with AlexHarper, it really just comes down to managing your time well. Try and use your weekends to lighten your homework load during the week. The only thing that sucks is the 4-6 practices. I don’t think there’s anything that would make me swim in a cold pool at 4 AM for 2 hours. That’s crazy.

@Hobbiton

I just want to know, what were you thinking when you posted this? Did you honestly think you were doing bad? You are OBVIOUSLY doing more than enough…

lol I am starting 7 Clubs at school, so i will have plenty of leadership

HOSA(health sciences type of club)
Student Ambassadors(mentor and tutor freshman)
International Affairs(discussion and debate)
Forex Currency Trading(we will learn how to trade forex and do it)
Problem Solving Club(do fun math problems and prepare for AMC/math league)
USABO/Biology Club(study for USABO and get lab time)
Geography and Cartography Club(do mock geography and cartography competitions)

^ How much time can you actually invest in each club though?

I wasn’t trying to rub it in or anything :o. Sorry if it came off that way. I just wanted a holistic view of things.

And do you guys do a lot of programming? I want to grab Java, Python, C, #C, C++, Javascript, MatLab, PhP, HTML5, MySQL, and maybe some functionals like LISP. Once you start and learn one language pretty well, you can grab other ones really quickly. I have already done and intro Java course at school so I am continuing with that and python.

Starting 7 clubs? Wow. I’m starting one but I am totally dedicated.

Here are my clubs.

HOSA (I’m an officer and first place regional competitior)

Yeah, I’m using Java for AP Computer Science A! I use Dr. Java. It’s pretty cool so far haha.

I will invest a lot of time. My school has a dedicated period each day for extra curriculars.

I didn’t say you were trying to rub it in. Just wanted to know what was going on in your head.

I don’t program at all! Well, I will this year for AP Computer science.

@Imsoambitious: That is SO cool you guys have an extra curricular period!

I do a lot of clubs, but only about 5 of them are really doing anything important.

ImSoAmbitious: But still, one period divided by seven clubs is not a lot per club, right?

I don’t even know what is going on in my head most of the time xD.

@Hobbiton: hahaha, to answer your question though.I can’t really critique you. You are doing A LOT and you will definitely go far. Just don’t ever think you aren’t doing enough because you are! And you will succeed :)
