High School Class of 2015

I just got my schedule for sophomore year and it’s such a pain omg and I start school on September 6th
(NYC schools)

I don’t think my school has a homecoming dance, but it has lots of other holiday dances.
Last year was the first year ever that a band student won Homecoming Queen at my school, aha.

Yay, it turns out that the newspaper is opened to every grade, whereas I thought it was opened only to juniors & seniors. Newspaper hereeeee I comeeee.

My school has a homecoming parade, but no dance. The only dance at my school is senior prom.

Oh and I basically have my schedule…

1.Theatre Arts
2.Study Hall (wanna get it changed)
3.Lunch
4.French B2H
5.Chemistry H
6A.Chemistry H
6B.Gym
7.Global History H
8.Algebra II/Trigonometry H
9.English H

According to my Guidance Counselor, my schedule was a very difficult one. There is only one Theatre Arts class and only one honors 10th grade French class. There was also only one Algebra II/Trigonometry Class that I could fit into, however, it was full. Luckily, I had that class’ teacher for study hall in 9th grade, so he knew I was a good student and he let me into his full 8th period class XD
I still want something for 2nd period…I thought maybe Career & Financial Management but again its full…

we have homecoming dance. last year I went with a … and it was disastrous. I hope this year it’ll go better. :p

My school finally ended up giving me what I wanted in the first place! I hope I won’t have to change it for the 6513510351651 time!!!

Precalc honros
ap stats
english 2 honros
civics honors
bio 2 honors
bio ap
chem honors
physics honros

^No language?

I’m excited for school! Starts Tuesday. My schedule is:

AP Psych
College Prep
Student Teaching Assistant
APES
Trigonometry
AP Lang

My schedule is supposedly one of the hardest at my school, says my guidance counselor. Especially for sophomores. Only taking two AP Tests, though, due to APES and AP Psych being on the same day.

Sched change:

Honors English II
AP Physics (all year every day)
Ceramics I/Student Council
AP Calc AB/AP Psych

Honors French III second sem 1st block

I’ll also be taking the AP Human Geo exam since I skipped out last year… Definitely THE hardest sched of a sophomore… But it doesn’t even seem that hard to me  j don’t know what all the fuss is about… Knock on wood.

My sophomore year is going to be SO much harder than freshman year. I had only one honors class last year (geometry), because that was the only one offered, and since I suck at math I had to work my butt off (5 hours a day at the library during finals week, just for math) just to get the bare minimum for an A. Now this year I’m taking 4 honors (including honors math), 1 AP, 2 self-studies, PSAT, maybe USABO, and likely the SAT. I have absolutely NO idea how I’m going to handle this, especially with all the clubs I’ll be joining. Freshman year did not prepare me at all, since all the regular courses I took were extremely easy. This has been on my mind for the whole summer. Just had to get it off my chest.

Were you an honors student before freshman year? Honestly if you were you should be fine this year, unless youre really normally a standard kid/don’t do well in honors classes. My honor classes are much easier now in highschool then they were in middle school. Don’t swear the small stuff

We didn’t have honors classes in middle school. For math, we had advanced but I wasn’t in that class. Maybe I didn’t do too well in freshman honors math because everyone else came from the adv. math class and I wasn’t as prepared. I guess I’ll be fine next year but I’ll have 5x more work every day.

Anyone taking the PSAT/ SAT this year? And if so, what are your scores? I’m roughly scoring around 1900 and trying to break 2100 by October. I’ve got to memorize a lot of vocabulary.

We’re already halfway into the quarter already D:
So far my course load is:
AP Bio
Clinical Health
Honors English
Japanese II
Trig/Pre-Calc
AP World

ehehe…

@cookiestuf
I took the PSAT (190) last year and I’m planning on taking it again (along with the SAT) this year. I need to start studying >.< especially for reading (does anyone else feel like they’re getting more and more illiterate?)

I’m planning on taking the SAT in the spring and this is my first time. I hope to at least get a 2100 but probably won’t happen this year. I have been studying and practice questions are hit and miss. My school is not offering the PSAT, instead they are offering the P-ACT. I’m not really sure if this is helpful given that I am definitly taking the SAT. Can you take the PSAT outside of school?

My practice PSAT score is 210. My writing is very high. but math and reading really need to be better. of course the real test could be different.

Hopefully I get a +2100 on my SATs (though I’m only taking it one next year and again senior year since I took it freshman year and got 1820). So I guess I’m also hoping for a +210 on my PSATs for this year… Hopefully!!

Just so you guys know if you take the Kaplan practice tests, they’re extremely easy and inflate your score a lot. For my first practice test I took the Princeton Review and got a 192, then I took the Kaplan and got a 220. This was all in one week so I doubt a +28 was possible. I later took a PR one again and got a 198.

I really want to get around a 220 when I take it in October, or to get close to the qualifying score in my state which is ~224

Actually I did my practice test based on a real PSAT (2009 Oct. W)
@woahitzme, is there a princeton review for PSAT? or it’s for the SAT?

Tomorrow is the first day of school. :(
