At my school, gym has to be selected every year (four semesters), but passing three semesters fulfills the gym requirement. Substitutions for gym include: Dance, Band, ROTC, Show choir, and Chorus. The requirement can be waived for course conflicts, injuries, etc.

We need two years of gym. However you can substitute both years with marching band, ROTC, or off campus PE (ie some do karate etc, and it must be like five hours a week.) You can satisfy your second year with sports (one sport is one semester), which is what I have opted to do (I have credits from golf and will hopefully be getting basketball credits.)

@Imsoambitious. Thank you. I hope you don’t take what I said the wrong way. Your ECs are truly AMAZING.

@Collegefountain and goodnoodle…that
s cool you can substitute. Yeah, my school only has two years as a requirement, but starting with next year
s freshman, they going to have to take 4 years. I
m glad I got out of that requirement, otherwise that would
ve really messed up my schedule.

4 years of PE? That’s ridiculous

It
s because they
re thinking that 4 years of PE will help keep kids active and healthy.

4 years is pretty insane. My school has no PE requirement, but even in the public schools where I live, only two years are required.

@shmluza good luck!!! I had my first ap chem test on thursday and let’s just say that it did not go so great

For gym at my school, students only have to wear a change of clothes, and they can participate in the current gym event (badminton, volleyball, etc.), or just walk around the track.
Most people don’t like swimming since the pool water is chlorinated, but it’s 25% of our grade.
This year I have gym every other day, and I enjoy it. Besides lunch, it’s the best time to socialize.
In middle school for me, there were fitness tests (push-ups, mile run, you know), but it’s great there aren’t any now.

In 9th Grade, we take “Wellness”. Us boys were in the gym for the 1st semester and pool for the 2nd semester. Other way around fro girls.

After that, there is advanced pool and “adelphi” PE for those who are really into it, but most of us just take regular PE for the other 3 years. Thats what I’m doing.

Yes, PE is required all 4 years.

I just got a 94 on my first math quiz…it’s not a bad grade but I’m kinda upset because the quizzes are just gonna get harder from here and math is my weakness ):

Managing school and football has been easier than I thought it would be so far, but I know it’s only going to get harder. Procrastination is seriously a weak point with me, and I hate it a lot -_-

Biggest procrastinator----> Me. Won`t go over so well in an AP class.

o, i am jamming

Today is the FIRST easy day I have had. All I have for today is some easy Civics homework! I think this is the first day I don’t have homework in all of my classes.
:D

@MichalSR, it didn’t go well for me either. :’( :,(

Progress reports today:

Honors Chem: 98%
AP Psych: 97%
AP Enviro: 96%
Honors Algebra: 87% (ehh, it will be an A soon enough)
AP Human Geo (online): 107.12%

Progress reports already?? I don’t get mine until October!

Ha yeah! I know it hasn’t even been a month of school yet!!! Oh well, my school seems very dysfunctional right now. They might of lost it…

Eh, I got mine today…math doesn
t look so hot…but I know it
ll bump up to an A soon because we get SO much Extra Credit for homework:
Algebra: 85%
English: 98%
Earth Science: 96%
AP W. History: 97%

My school doesn`t even have a lot of honors classes…just things called “T/A” that are supposed to replaces Honors…so I usually just write Honors to make it understandable.
I really shouldn`t be doing that badly in math because that and AP are the only classes I actually have to put forth effort in.
