@elf4EVA: You’re so lucky that math is one of your best/favorite subjects. It’s one of the subjects that I truly just struggle with. The concepts just don’t stay in my brain. Math is like some kind of foreign language that I’ve been learning since young, but was never understood a single thing.

I’m best as physics (I got 100 in my first GCSE exam!) then chemistry. Also good at maths and biology.
Favourite subject is definitely history, which is what I’ve decided to do at university, even if I’m not so great at it.
Worse subject is probably English literature or textiles, although I got lowest marks in my PE, but I really shouldn’t have.

This is a kind of random question, and kind of early considering Thanksgiving idn
t until November, but (at least around here) it
s really feeling and looking like fall, so I was wondering what you guys normally do for Thanksgiving? Traditions, what you guys do, etc, etc…

My Dad
s from Ohio and he
s the only one of his family to move out of Ohio, so we usually go up there…I remember one time when we went up it snowed, and I thought it was a big deal because it never snows down here before December :D

So if we go to Ohio, we
ll do whatever…just a lot of general stuff. My mom, aunt, cousin and I will normally go to the store to get the food and then on Thanksgiving we
ll cook it and watch all the football games and then we`ll eat…big family! Normally have to set up two tables.

Share your stories.

@CE527M There are various family feuds in my family, so we usually just stay home and have thanksgiving with immediate family

Hmm…interesting. My family
s always been real close, except for my uncle (Dad
s brother), he
s like the black sheep of the family…has consistently gotten in trouble since he was a kid…he
s been to jail too (Luckily not for murdering anyone or anything THAT bad).

I rarely see my family because they live all over the world. My closest relative, other than my parents and brother, lives in SoCal. As for tradition, we usually go to a big dinner party at a friend’s house and then celebrate at home. My grandma and aunt are coming this year for the holidays, though :DD

Stayed home from school today, sick, and now I
m imagining the loads of extra work I
ll have to do to catch up.

Nothing! :)

Right now it’s pretty much a B+ to A fest in my grade book.
It’s only been like a month of school… so I’m kinda worried. Ah weflsmdla.

AP World is meh. It’s pretty dull, tbh. I’m not a fan of history. And I think my teacher messed up the grading because I ended up getting 21/50 for something that I think I was supposed to get 41/50 for… My grade dropped from a steady A to a B. I’m so angry. I’m going to talk to him tomorrow. UGH.

Fo’serious?

My favorite subject is probably… Bio.

My best subject was Geometry. I got a 97% in the class, it’s the best math grade I’ve ever gotten (with the exception of middle school, duh.)

Right now, I absolutely despise Algebra 2. I hate it. Algebra is mind-numbingly boring and tedious.

Sigh.

Favorite/Best: Anything Social Studies related. I have aced every S.S. class pretty much ever.

Worst: Math. I like math, but I have to grapple with it. Currently, it’s my only B (I’m in pre-calc), as I have an 87.7%. Ugh.

Waiting until 11:30 to do a DBQ…not my brightest idea. Luckily, I stayed home sick today, and I guess I slept off my sore throat and cold…I slept until 2:50! So, I`m not too tired. I think I might have to pull an all-nighter just to get ahead on homework. Wish me luck.

@CE527M: Good luck!

I need to just rant. I was doing my AP Biology homework at 11PM last night. Feeling a little bored, I checked my email and saw an e-mail from my English teacher saying: “Don’t sleep too late studying for the test! See you tomorrow for the exam!”
And at first, I thought she was joking and I laughed.
And then I found that that there was a huge unit test the next day. Gosh, I’m so irresponsible. I honestly didn’t think a teacher would really assign a huge test after the biggest holiday in my country :(

Well, I
m somewhat prod of myself…my DBQ shouldn
t have taken that long, but I didn
t finish until close to 3…and then I caught up on other stuff, so I only got 45 minutes of sleep…so I
ve very proud of the fact that I
m still up and talking coherently, but have lots of makeup work from missing school…so I can only hope I
ll finish at a decent time.

@LemonDormiens…I don
t THINK my teachers would do something as underhanded as that, but who knows. How
d it go?

Hey, guys! Did anybody watch the presidential debate last night? If so, what’d you think? Do you belong to a party or support one of the candidates?

Nope, didn`t have time. Heard that Romney was the clear winner, though.
But forum rules say we arent to engage in political debate, otherwise posts, or worse *GULP* this thread, will be deleted, and I don
t now how far that stating which candidate we like and why would be violating that rule. So I`d advise all to be careful.

Oh, that’s a weird rule. I was just curious, lol. Okay then, never mind my question.

Well, they don`t want political debates and whatnot…could create a whole argument.

So I just saw the musical of Cabaret with Will Young, and it was the best thing I have ever seen with my life. Apply this quote to shows:
“Sometimes, you read a book and it fills you with this weird evangelical zeal, and you become convinced that the shattered world will never be put back together unless and until all living humans read the book.”
Honestly people, it was the funniest, most upsetting and most powerful show I have ever seen, and Will Young was incredible. He went from wearing short leather shorts and stockings at the beginning to being completely naked at the end (which was the most moving scene). I know most of you will never get the chance to see this, but if you do you MUST. It is truly amazing, and I cried a lot. There aren’t any reviews of it or anything yet because tonight was the opening night :)

Anyway, do any of you have books/films/shows that have left you like this?

Is it something that`s only in the UK? Because if so, 0 chance of me seeing it.
The Book Thief. I read that book in 8th grade, and each time I reread it, I get a different meaning....I guess I read deeper into it. Very good book, if youre interested in history and all. I can
t exactly describe it, it was just that great. Told from a perspective that no one ever sees, one "main" story line, various other smaller, but yet still important ones, and the things that you have to read between the lines to get. Was the best $15 I ever spent. Actually, I didn`t spend jack.....it was a Christmas present. But still.
