High School Class of 2015

PSAT was extremely easy. The time limit killed me, however. Next year is when it really counts, so I’m not entirely bummed.

took the PLAN today (a complete joke)… taking PSAT Saturday.

the PSAT was easier than i thought it would be. However, the math section(the first one) troubled me a bit

Eh, I think I did alright, could
ve done better, but it didn
t help that the kid behind me kept blowing his nose and it was a bit distracting. I feel like I over thought some of the questions, but who knows?

I took the PSAT today! Not nearly as bad as I thought it would be.

What I think I got…

40s (I’m being generous) in Math
60s in Reading
Upper 50s/60s for Writing

We’ll see. I’d be “happy” with a 170+. I was reminded today that the PSAT in 10th doesn’t really matter and that no test can fully and fairly evaluate our intellect. That being said, I’m going to try to not be bummed when I get my results back in two months.

In other news, I made a 100 on my AP Literary Terms test!

I think I did pretty well, but I probably missed at least a couple in each section…
For sure at least -1 in Math
Probably -1-3 in CR
Maybe -2 in Writing, but I felt pretty good about it.

I was shooting for 210 or more. I got 202 last year, which was simply because my 77 in CR somewhat nullified my abysmal scores in Math and Writing.

I think I got mid 190s. I think that maybe if I get extremely lucky i got a 200. CR was much easier than it had been in the practice booklet. Math was easier too. I had no issues with the first section, but I had to guess on like 3 of the free response questions in the second section. However I usually do really good in writing but it seemed harder today.

In all honesty, I really have no idea how I did. It could be anywhere from 150-210 for all I know. Or lower or higher. Probably not higher. Oh well. Only a few months until December…

I feel like I’m the only person who thought this year’s PSAT was harder than last year’s.

-0-1 M – went too fast on the second section, checked, and found four stupid errors… EEK. But I typically do pretty well on the math section, so fingers crossed
-4 CR – not particularly sure, but the free will passages made me want to bang my head against the desk, so that’s about three questions I’m biting my nails about
-4 W – I absolutely know I got one question incorrect, and there may be more

Not sure if I can achieve a 210 or higher this year from what I can see from my guesstimations, but I often tend to think too lowly of myself.

Unless you go to my school where freshmen and sophomores wait till February to see their scores. Hopefully I’ll be able to sneak in with the juniors like last year and get mine in December.

I finished hte first section with 10 minutes sparing
I finished the second section (Math 1) with 5 minutes sparing
I finished 3rd (CR2) with 5 minutes
Finised 4th (Mth 2) with 5 minutes
Finised Writing with 5 minutes to spare

Its wierd how i finished with plenty of time but only finished Writing completely on my practice test

@goodnoodle…aw, man!

@ispy…this is my first time taking it, so…

Yeah, on the wrong section, I screwed up my answer sheet luckily for only 4, and I was able to fix it, but I only had 5 minutes left, so I`m afraid I might have rushed on the last few. I got through everything, but skipped some on every section except writing, which for the most part, was extremely easy.

Anyone take the PLAN? Is the ACT even close to how easy the PLAN is?

Critical Reading was a breeze. I finished the second section with 10 minutes left, so I was just sitting there twiddling my thumbs. I think I only skipped three questions combined on both sections.

Math was a bit harder, but it was still easy. I skipped two multiple choice, and I’m pretty sure I got at least one of the grid-ins wrong.

Writing was… interesting. I either did amazingly or terribly. Time will tell.

What the heck is the PLAN? Every other school takes it but mine. Not that I really have a problem with that, don`t need anymore tests, but anyhow…

I cannot wait to get my scores back in December. I really felt like I did well.

Critical Reading, which I usually am really bad at, was much easier than I expected it to be. From both sections, I don’t know for sure, but as I usually do horribly, I’m guessing I got about 5-8 wrong. Which would leave me with about a 66.

Math, I thought, was extremely easy. However, I am almost positive I got one wrong (the one w/ the chart & the frequencies that asked to find the greatest possible value of Y). I actually think that was the only one I got wrong on both sections, so I was really happy about that! If that goes how I expect, I should get an 80.

Writing was about what I expected. Not extremely easy, but definitely not hard. I think at most, I got 4 wrong, which would give me a 76.

So overall, I’m really really hoping I did how I thought I did. If all goes as planned, I should get a 222,which would be absolutely amazing! I know it doesn’t count for anything this year, but I’m hoping and praying that I get this score so that I can almost be guaranteed National Merit recognition next year!

By the way, what sections did you guys think were the most challenging?

My brain was completely muddled during the test, oh my goodness. CR was the hardest, as it always is for me, followed by writing, then math.

Arghhhh WHY DECEMBER.

By the way, to change the subject but not really change the subject, there were two pretty great things about the writing test that I had to appreciate:

 1. The fact that they talked about violas and violins. I’m an orchdork, so that was greatly appreciated. Even though I don’t play viola. But still. Pretty cool.
 2. Lanyards & Nooses.

I think math was, well, easier than I expected, but hard enough for me to get a few wrong. I left like 6 blank altogether, I think, and put a couple random answers for the fill in the blank ones. CR, eh, In the 70
s, for sure. High, too. Writing, I didn
t leave any blank, which could be good or bad, but for the most part, was really easy. A couple of the detect-the-error ones might`ve tripped me up.

Wow, we signed that honor contract saying we wouldn`t talk about it at all, and here we are posting on a public forum.

And then in AP, these two guys who are in Pre-Calc and also taking another AP class were saying how ridiculously easy it all was, and I was sitting there fuming, and luckily, didn`t open my big mouth to tell them what I thought about them.

Do you know if anyone will ever take that exact test again? I know the other PSAT date is a Saturday, but are they taking the exact one that we took today?
