Not sure. Wouldn`t think so, too high of a risk for cheating. But still.
I KNOW NOTHING! To anyone who reads this, I`m not discussing test questions, just saying whether it was easy or hard!

DO NOT DISCUSS!!!

@CE527M: Nice Sargeant Shultz phrase XD

OMG how can you all remember so well?! I have no clue. I think math was easy.

How do you feel about CR?

Eh, OK. There were a few I didn
t know 3 out of the 4 words, or couldn
t remember exact definitions, so I skipped them.

Hey Guys! Is anyone else on here doing HOSA competition, Envirothon or any other club related competition?

Nope, nothing like that, AlexHarper.

OK, I want your guy
s opinion on this. On Tuesday, in AP World, (Last class of the day, so all of this happened earlier in the same day) one of my classmates/friend
s came in mad and related what happened in her Spanish class. Others in AP also have Spanish with her, so they were also mad and confirmed it.

Apparently, a girl in their Spanish class had a lighter and lit a pretzel, and when it started to burn (and obviously smell), she made a derogatory remark about my friend, who
s Jewish. I won
t go into exactly what she said, but it was border-line illegal, hate speech, if you ask me. So my friend related this story back to us, and our AP teacher was appalled, and wrote a letter to the Spanish teacher, letting her know that the antagonist needed to be reprimanded, harshly. So today, my friend said that the teacher (Spanish) read the letter out loud in class, then said, “We don
t need to say things like that” and then told my friend she was sorry the girl said that to her. And the girl who said the offensive remark wasn
t even paying attention, and then asked the kid next to her, “Oh, was she talking to me?”

My friend is very mad (Not so much as upset and hurt, bu plain mad) and the rest of our AP class is too, because my friend is a very happy-go-lucky kid, always is laughing and joking, and it really makes us mad to see her like this, and it
s unfair that nothing
s being done, no write-up to the principal, nothing. My friend
s mom and our AP teacher talked to the Spanish teacher, and no dice. My friend wants something done about this, and we all do to. The story has spread to about 200 students of the school and we
re all in agreement something needs to be done, so we`ll see what happens tomorrow.
But I just wanted to see how you guys felt about this, etc. Its ridiculous to me. Obviously, the "real world" isn
t all sunshine and daisies, and well all be confronted by issues such as these sometime in the future, but it
s ridiculous nothing`s being done.

That’s awful! If it was me I would report them to the head or board or something.
But then again, I know a number of people who have made rascist comments (although never what I would call 'borderline hate speech) because it does happen Nevertheless, nothing will change unless things start being done.

I think you’re taking it too far. It was 1 remark, and the girl is entitled to her opinion. You can’t expel her or anything just over that. People are crazy and prejudiced; my school has a scandal going on now and it’s been tough

Purpledino, I see where you
re coming from, and yes, people have their opinion, but there are people who go to jail for hate speech, Neo-Nazis, I think is what most of them are, and this wasn
t just saying something…and there was apparently another small incident with the same girl today in their class, nothing derogatory was said, but still something else. Well, yeah, expulsion isn
t what I
m going for, but a referral to the Principal
s officer would be fine. It might be an opinion, but it
s also against school policy. So that means by school rules, she should be getting in trouble. People get in trouble for bullying, right? That
s something you
d want reported if it was pretty bad, right? This, IMO, is a form of bullying.

With all respect, I think that the person should not care. I would say, it’s life, deal with it. It is not like she got some killing disease or got injured really bad. This is just my opinion and I do not mean for anyone to take it offensively.

This has nothing to do with minding my own business. I don
t see how it could be clearer since I wrote that both my AP teacher and my friend
s mom talked to the Spanish teacher and nothing has been done. My friend is wanting something to be done, but the Spanish teacher is notorious for not giving punishments needed to be given. About 200 other students also want something done. I even quote myself:

I
m a concerned friend, this isn
t like some little argument with a teacher about a grade. My friend
s pretty mad about this, and will be talking to her guidance counselor and possibly principal tomorrow. I never said * I * was going to do anything. It
s not my place to tell a teacher or principal’ my friend is a big kid, she can handle this herself, I understand.

yerhs, I get where you
re coming from; this is all a piece of the real world for us, there
s stuff worse than this said out in the “adult” world, so to speak. It
s just rough for most of us because there isn
t a whole lot of prejudice in our school, and you read about Antisemitism and other things in the newspaper and history books, and then it`s like, boom, right here.

Honestly if this was a one time occurrence it’s not that big of a deal. If she makes racist remarks like that everyday, then it’s a problem.

I honestly don
t know for sure, but I
ve heard that this girl has made remarks (not necessarily about religion) before, but cannot be sure. I don`t personally know her.
Just for the record everyone, I reread my original post, and I realize I sort of dramatized the post, and didnt mean for it to sound like that. I realize completely that this won
t be the last time something like this has happened. I was just honestly wondering about your opinions on the matter, and received some good answers. But that being said, it wasnt just a "typical" (Are there any typical remarks like that though?) remark...it was a very specific remark, but I
d rather not put it on here, but thanks to all for your thoughts. I truly appreciate them, and just wanted to get a gist of what all of you thought.
goodnoodle, if it was a remark about religion, that`s not racism, though ;) Just wanted to let you know in case you ever get a test with something like that.

Changing the subject from that, has you guys
grading period ended yet? Ours ends Friday, so that means I
ll have Monday off.

Yeah I thought it was just 1 incident

Well Jewish is one of those things thats iffy. I’ve heard atheists refer to themselves as Jewish.

But aside from that our grading period ends In two weeks.

ODD! I’ve heard the other way around - jewish call themselves atheists. They do that because they don’t know what they are - they are raised up as jews, but they don’t really believe Judaism

My grading period ends in two weeks, I think. My English now is 88. :(

Yeah, mine ends tomorrow, and I
m going to end up with a B in science and am mad but at least only the semester grade counts. 95 in English, and I
m surprised it
s the highest grade and one of two or three A
s…one other person also has a 95, and most have B
s. As far as math and history, I really have no idea. History is especially up in the air, as she hasn
t updated/shown us our grades since midway through the 9 weeks, so it could be anywhere from a A-B for all I know.

Really? Yeah, I
ve heard some atheists call themselves Jewish, but not the other way around really. I
ve heard of those who are raised as one way but don`t really believe in that religion just go with agnostic.

I hate it - one of my English project I got 120 out of 250! That pulled me down. It was a summer project. I spent tons of hours doing it. But the day it was due, I didn’t bring it. I got 0 out of 250! Then she said she’d give me partial credit. That really sucks! I may still be able to pull in up if I do well in the bench mark. I’ll try. I have a 88 now.
