High School Class of 2015

@SEWinter, 201 is great! I’d be happy if I get that. I don’t know yet. I’m hoping something like 200 or a little higher but I don’t know.

^ As long as its not a 60 I will rejoice

Okay Zane ill stop

@shmluza, My state is competitive, need a 220 or so for National Merit. So long ways to go, hopefully the preparation going forward helps.

@cem, talent search is (well for Duke anyway) when you take your SATs in 7th grade and if you do well whatever college that is sponsoring the search offers you classes and programs and stuff online and over breaks… So like I could take a class for abnormal psychology or nanotechnology online through duke if Was interested… There other options but none of them are really my thing.

@SeWinter, In my state, last year, you’d need a 221 for National Merit. But we won’t need to think about it until next year. I don’t know what I got this year. My school probably won’t let us know until winter break. I really want to know. I don’t know if I’ll have a shot for national merit next year. But I’ll definitely try. What’s your score for each category?

@Teaspoons…ah OK

I have just spent an hour searching online for a wig that could be styled like Legolas. Questioning my choice of costume, and life…

Did any of you take the SATs in 7th or 8th grade with a talent search? I took them in 8th through Johns Hopkins CTY.

Someone I know actually dated a relative of a One Direction member

well thats weird

bump this thread

7th grade I took the SATs … Tons of kids did it but only those who got certain scores qualify for the classes and stuff. I got a 1330 … So I mean I don’t think it was too hard at all to get in… Not sure how my scores compared to others though.

In 8th I got a 1580. I realize now that it’s pretty good for an eighth grader, but at the time I was kind of disappointed haha. Another girl who went to my school got around a 1700. I’m not sure if she was exaggerating, like maybe she got a 1650 or something, but she told me she got a 1700. That’s the only reason I thought I did badly.

Well my score jumped 500 points in two years… Maybe I’ll have another couple hundred jump by next year haha (hoping for that 2100:)

I’m hoping the same! The October PSAT was my first test since my 8th grade SAT, so I’m anxiously awaiting the scores to see how much I’ve improved since then!

did your teacher tell you when you’ll know your PSAT? My friend who goes to a private school just told me her teacher told them next monday they’ll know.

My teachers never mentioned anything about PSAT. :p

RoseOak3918, so did you go to CTY summer camp or did you take CTY course?

just got my PSAT score today…I took it on Oct 17

@shmluza I asked when we would get them about 2 weeks ago and the school just said sometime in December. I already knew that haha, but I just said OK and left it at that. I’m really hoping we get them next week. By tuesday would be awesome, but I don’t know.

@nomatterwhat This past summer I took an online geometry course through CTY, but I somewhat regret taking it. I’m glad I got ahead so that I can take precalc this year, but the course cost 700 dollars and I could’ve easily just bought the textbook for 50 and learned the same information. I wasn’t impressed with the course.
