High School Class of 2015

Anyone go to ISEF last year? I met at least 200 people. Maybe I met someone here.

Guys tomorrow is my last day before I go back to school!!! (yep, we got MLK off and today and tomorrow as teacher workdays) New semester starts; new classes, yay. Just hope I have lunch with someone I know.

As in first day back since christmas?!?
And thats #7 on my list of weird things about the American school system, lunch isn’t always at the same time. Here lunch is just at lunchtime, when everyone has an hours break and can relax, do homework and have lunch together.

lol, no I was back for a few weeks (went back Jan. 2) but have been on break since it is the end of the semester. Got Friday off for a snow day.

Yeah, we have 3 different lunch times in 2 cafeterias, so 6 possible lunches.

@UK only at most big high schools are there mulitple lunches

I know, it’s still strange  Big schools in the UK just have big canteens, or multiple lunch sittings within the lunchtime, so certain years can only buy lunch at certain times, although everyone’s free at the same time.

@Shaywood, one of my friends bought CB SAT course. She told me she bought it from ebay and it was a little bit cheaper. She also said it was good. I don’t know. She is a junior now. She will take the SAT in the spring. I’ll ask her for experience. I may use that too.

My school only has 2 lunches. Dang, CE, 6 different lunches?? That’s so much worse than at my school. :stuck_out_tongue: Even at my school, there are quite a few people that don’t end up with their friends every other day (block scheduling…it can be nice, but sometimes…)
What really annoys me about my school lunch is it’s only like 30 minutes long.

2,400 kids…it was crazy the other day when we got out of school early because of snow…1 lunch, 2 cafeterias…good Lawd!

Well, since there are really only 3 different lunches, but 2 cafeterias, if someone’s assigned to one cafeteria, they’ll just go eat in the other if that’s where their friends are at…sounds confusing, but it’s really not.

Yeah, mine’s 30 minutes too…I thought that was standard  I wish it was like a hour, I’d go to the library and work on homework.

Lunch break was an hour in middle school. Now it’s only half an hour. I usually go to clubs during lunch time and hang out with friends. Not that many people eat in the cafeteria in my school.

My school has two lunch times, but the juniors and seniors generally eat in a different room- not a whole separate cafeteria, but they buy their lunches in the cafe and there’s another lounge-type room. The freshmen and sophomores just eat in the cafeteria. And our lunch is 50 minutes, although we don’t typically stay in the cafe the whole time. We go to the library or the computer lab or something.

@UKgirl, I’m curious to know what the rest of your list is!

I’d probably end up offending someone again, but it includes having a final grade that takes into account general work during the year, and the aversion (I have a feeling that’s spelt wrong) to all forms of standardised testing :)

I’m currently seething that Merlin was beaten to best drama in the National TV Awards by a show as non-brilliant as Downton Abbey. It’s a good show and everything, but cannot come close to comparing to the brilliance of Merlin, or Sherlock for that matter.

i get 50 minutes at my school for lunch. 2 lunches. We have like 700 people in our school.

We have 150x5 that have to eat in school, then 170x2 that can eat in school or go into the village for food. I can’t do maths tonight, so I don’t know how many that is. Whatever the answer, we have 55 minutes for lunch for everyone and 1 cafeteria.

We get 45 minutes for lunch since it is just a regular class period. There are five different lunch periods (4, 5, 6, 7, 8). We can’t go out for lunch (which SUCKS), but we have vending machines with okay snacks. We can buy lunch at school, but the food is gross and only semi-edible.

My school has 3 lunch periods. And lunch lasts for 55 minutes.

You’re all really lucky! My high school has two lunches, but each lunch is only 30 minutes long. Not long enough to finish food at all, if you ask me. And considering that my school has over 2000 students… Whew. Usually I just stay in my 5th period class during lunch, since it’s too crowded going to the cafeteria. I have lunch right after math (Alg II/Trig H) and before AP Chemistry, so that gives me just enough time to eat and study during lunch.

First day of finals tommorow: taking finals for chem hon, ap euro (no final), and Precalc.

I’m not worried about oversll grades in the first two but I calculated that in order to get a B- in Precalc (which is the only thing that I know I’m not getting an A in) I need a 64 on the final.

Next day of finals are the easy ones English hon (already took final, have A in class), USB (no final), and Spanish 2.

I’m worried about Spanish. I’ve done all the work all semester and should have an A but she claims I didn’t do the last few assignments and have a B+. I really needa convince her…but the final itself shouldn’t be too hard

^Oh my freaking gosh I hate teachers like that!! Pain in the butt to deal with!

Juniors and seniors get to go off-campus for lunch-I’m excited for that, but I don’t have a car, so I probably can’t do that junior year. :(

Our school started having us register for next year’s classes TODAY.
Is it just me, or is that slightly ridiculous? It’s not even February yet!

We do ours in like May…or something like that.

New semester starts tomorrow…
