When do u start school

september 7

September 6 for me

Word of advice:

You’ll earn a lot of respect from random people by learning the difference between “freshman” and “freshmen.”

Freshman: A ninth grade student.
Freshmen: Two or more ninth grade students.

I was a freshman in 2009-10. My friends and I were freshmen in 2009-10.

A freshman girl. Freshman girls. Re freshman class.

Just like you say “Senior guys” instead of “Seniors guys.”

^ Who do you know that cares about things like that?

^^ Horsey… No.

That’s stupid. I am a rising Sophomore, so trust me. People don’t care about this stuff lol.

Sorry, but hard truth.

My first day of high school starts in a few days. Wish me luck!

I’m a rising junior, and seeing people that can’t use proper grammar is annoying. It’s a sign of immaturity if you can’t put together a sentence. Maybe it’s a journalism major thing. But you can’t honestly say “nobody cares,” because some people do.

^ I’m in the exact same boat, except I’m a rising senior. I guess student journalists are just nitpicky ;)

To all of you 2015ers -

  1. You will realize that if you want to get good grades and have friends, you will probably sleep very little.
  2. When you join clubs, make sure they are things you are interested in and will commit to for all 4 years. Leadership positions matter.
  3. You don’t need to start prepping for SAT tests now, but think about them the summer before your junior year.
  4. Take as many challenging courses as you can, but make sure it’s because you are genuinely interested in the subjects.
  5. Learn how to write and speak properly. Do not use ‘cuz’ when you could easily spell out the word ‘because’.
    That is all.

Rising sophomore here. I HATE when people mix up “freshman” and “freshmen”.

Just saying.

Shmuluza, read Moving Finger in the Miss Marple Series. A Murder in Baghdad is great too.

Rising senior here. I could care less when people mix up “freshman” and “freshmen”.

And I have an 800 on the Writing section of the SAT. Just saying.

It’s honestly not something you should spend your time worrying about.

@PreppyDude, Thank you Thank you Thank you…

It’s not something to worry about, but something to keep in mind. Proper grammar is always a plus.

Also, although I’m sure you’ve heard it before, FRESHMAN GRADES COUNT!
