High School Class of 2015

@emenya not me lol. I like being one of the smartest and standing out.

@Phillyy15 there’s always that too of course  That is a definite benefit lol

l2speakinternet pls

Pretty sure this is meant to be a site in which people can hold educated conversations and not sound like idiots on purpose, saying yo after every other sentence and abbreviations and slang no one else understands :)

Saying things such as “Rutgers sucks” doesn’t help either

@emenya last year all of my classes were filled with the smartest kids in my grade. My school only lets you take 6 AP classes per year, so most of the smart kids just take a study hall for their 7th hour, so their weighted GPA doesn’t drop. All the required classes drop weighted GPA enough already (Freshman: Speech, Modern and ancient world history; Sophomore: Health; Junior: USH history (the # of people who dropped APUSH after the first quiz :)) :))); Senior: Composition, World/English Lit (if you don’t take AP Lang); Gov & Econ (which both have AP courses)).

Studying hall used to be part of 4th hour (so the 4 lunch hours worked out) but now it’s a class. Speech was required freshman year. I was in a class with mostly upperclassman, so it wasn’t to bad. I took heath (required) 10th grade as a 0 hour (before school), so only people who could wake up a 6:00 were in that class and everyone too tired to talk.

Only one kid got to take 7 APs this year–he has a 4.71-- and that’s because he is the “unofficial” valedictorian (my school doesn’t rank but if you have above a 4.25 you receive the highest honors tassel at graduation) and already took Calc BC last year. And his 7th AP Class was AP Stats which is an easy class, contrary to what the teacher thinks.

@phillyy15 when you’re the smartest everyone always wants to partner up with you and I’m just like, “No get away from me; I’m riding solo.” Or when partners are forced upon you, and you’re stuck doing majority of the work because everyone assumes the smartest person in the group wants to handle everything -_-.

smartkidproblems

Yeah haha it’s kind of annoying always having people want me to do the work, which is why I try to appear lazy so people know if they partner up with me, I’m making them do their share

I’m 98% sure that I’m leaving New Jersey for college. And to be honest, I can’t wait :)

Same boat. I am 99.9% sure I am leaving Texas. Unless UT sells me… :D

Same for me and Delaware, unless I get in to UD Honors and/or get very generous financial aid. I’m like 90% that I’m going to end up at Penn State, but lately I’ve had second thoughts due to the cost of tuition.

@emenya‌ I’m about to start a discussion in the group

survived first 3 days of school, so so tired. school has got an awfully weird vibe this year but then again i’m pretty sure that’s the whole “but wAIT…IM A SENIOR???” thing kicked in. also i feel like school right now is a side thing and im just chillin with friends outside of it. (wait till next week and ap lit breaks my neck). on the same note as ap lit, i was slayed by the test we had first day of school in which every proud survivor of that class says that C’s and D’s are the norm so yeah that’s helpful. still trying to gather my bearings. probably should gather them soon before i get knocked all out of wack by the stresses of school woohoo!!!

I read that as though you were talking really fast and now I’m under the impression that you stressed @‌rllyrlyodd

it’s funny ;)

Edit: Or getting ready to be stressed

How the heck has school already started for you? Do you go to one of those schools that ends in like, May?
For me, school is beginning of Sept - end of June.
And while people think I’m smart, they also think I’m extremely lazy (which is true) :stuck_out_tongue: So they don’t usually try to make me do all the project work haha.

@marshallowpop yes. We started school a week earlier than normal–finish May 22 graduate May 31 in case we need to make up snow days–because previously we always had finals the week we got back from winter break, so naturally people didn’t study or were still on vacation for majority of the week. Now we are going to have finals the week before winter break, so now I won’t forget anything.

If I’m working solo I always end up procrastinating until the morning it’s due because that’s when I actually feel inspired about a writing topic. Whenever we work in groups I always get it done ASAP, so I have time to edit the paper and no one came blame me if they get a bad grade.

@tola2015 I didn’t even know that schools actually had finals after winter break!!! Wow. And I am the same way with projects. Procrastination is a real threat people :D

Yay for procrastination! And I’ve gotta say that I’m probably one of the lazy/smart kids so I guess the message of “I’m not doing your work” gets out pretty well haha

Second week of school is over! It hasn’t even been that long and I’m done. I get 3-4 hours of sleep every night, even on weekends! And I see people having breakdowns already…but it might be a little too early for that.

Good luck to all of us, cuz we’re going to need it to survive! :expressionless:

Amen to that! @minhoforever

Usually around August 20th or so to the beginning of june for me. I start tomorrow
