High School Class of 2015

You guys are complaining about SAT/ACT, and I’m over here like “I was done with all that 6 months ago.”

I was too! @metsfanajm

lol we’re all not geniuses like you two

Thanks for rubbing it in. Just one more month of madness before applications are due. Wow.

I have so few posts but I’ve been stalking this website for nearly four years…

I made a 31, I’m planning on retaking it again October 25. Also planning on retaking the SAT the 11th of October. So that will be two times taking each test (the SAT and ACT)

I’d recommend that you just pick one @Pentakis. No point in wasting your energy on two different test when you focus your energy on just one.

^I’ve already signed up for both, but honestly my efforts are more directed towards the SAT and not the ACT. I just like knowing I have a back up just in case something goes awry test day.

@Pentakis I thought about doing the same thing but decided to just retake the SAT, not the ACT. I suggest you do the same and choose one to retake by finding which one suits you better. Better to focus on one, so that you can do better and have more time for other stuff. Good luck!

Even if you don’t do well on the SAT, is 2 weeks sufficient enough for the ACT? Better to save your money @Pentakis

I’ve got the SAT in October then I’m done. It’s a struggle with hockey because I keep
having to take tests right after hockey games while away from home. Last May I had to take the SAT while in MA, then the ACT in Connecticut, and finally the SAT 2s back in MA (Im from NY…). Has anyone else had to do this? I feel it’s effected my scores, even though I did decent on all of them

@DaneBrick‌ Well the thing is I’ve already payed to take both tests. I don’t think it’s a bad idea personally, but I understand completely what you are saying. The two weeks will only go towards my math section of the ACT, as my reading and writing score are already super mega foxy awesome hot. Kudos to you if you get that reference!

Hmm…Haven’t been on my yahoo account for over a year. Let me check it real quick.

Checks “Holy ----! 12,000 unread messages!”
Scrolls through about 100 Great guys, I already see 6 schools that have sent me fee waivers. I haven’t used that email for like 2 years. I’m going to have to wade through it now.

@Phillyy15 (I assume your EA question was addressed to me) All the schools I’m considering are either ED or REA, so I have to choose. MIT’s plain regular EA though

I also just realized that AP Physics is the only STEM class I’m taking this year… I hope said Institute of Technology doesn’t look down on that (cause I took a bunch over the last three years)

So…this is unrelated to applying or anything college related but has anyone watched Silver Linings Playbook or The King’s speech? I have to do a film analysis on mental illness Playbook (bipolar) and Speech (social anxiety), and they both seem like great movies but I can only choose one. Does anyone have any recommendations/opinions on which one is more enjoyable?

I accomplished my goal and went beyond. I got a 35. It seems that I am ready for applying to Stanford REA. Yippee.

Whoa, congrats, @Hawkace!

Thanks! @CE527M‌

When I saw my score, I was in complete shock. I’m glad that all of my hard work paid off. It feels amazing.

Now, about those essays…

Please, someone else, say that you don’t have a final draft of your essays yet, because I don’t.

I have maybe 5 done out of like 15 or so :expressionless: @Hawkace Congrats on your score and your hard work!

@Phillyy15‌ looking back through the posts, I think maybe you were talking to me?? Any way, only one EA school because those 2 of those schools have Restrictive Early action and that means you can only apply early to that school. But it doesn’t restrict you from applying EA to public schools. So if I do EA for Stanford, which I really, really, want to do, I can’t apply EA to Harvard or M.I.T

Oh yeah and I never did finish those essays that day I said I wouldn’t go to sleep until they were done. Things happen lol

@‌Hawkace

I still remember the days when we were arguing over questions on the March SAT
