@Almondjoy7 She has a grudge against science ever since she got a 90 in chem, hahah. But she’s also done with her graduation requirements for science so I guess she can do what she wants!
No, oh my gosh, I just realized how I misused there in my last post thing and it’s bothering me so much because I can’t edit it. 8-|

@loltired Yeah, if there aren’t enough people to take AP Physics 1 and 2 at my school, I’ll probably replace it with AP Chemistry and AP Statistics.

Should I take AP Psychology next year? My school does an A/B schedule for APUSH/AP English, so I would be taking five classes each semester. If I did take it, my second semester would be: AP Physics 2, APUSH, AP Language, AP Psychology and pre-cal. I feel like that I might be overwhelmed with the work or something.

@gbrl10 Does that mean you can take 10 classes a year? Luckyyyyyyyy
I don’t know how much work APUSH and AP Lang are at your school, or AP Psych even but I took AP Psych this year and it was incredibly easy, although, I think I learned a lot from the class. My teacher gave quite a bit of extra credit so I ended up making over 100 every marking period, but the work wasn’t very hard, and the only thing I really had to study was vocabulary.

Still don’t know what imma be when I grow up

@loltired Haha no, I wish we took 10 a year. The A/B schedule only applies to APUSH and AP Lang and it’s year long, so I still just take 8.

@TheAtlantic At first I wanted to be a computer scientist, but then I switched to software engineer because computer scientist seem to be extremely smart people. A lot of people switch their majors in college though, so I don’t know what will happen.

@gbrl10 oh really wow well that’s still more than me hahah since APUSH takes 2 of our 8 classes so we really only have 7
and then if we want to take an AP science, it’s also 2 classes

and one is weighted as an honors class
:(

Wait, how many APs are you all planning on taking next year (and which ones)?

I was going to take 5 - APUSH, AP Lang, AP Physics, AP Chem, and AP Calc AB - but taking AP Calc would require me to skip pre-calc, and I don’t know if I want to do that anymore.

@catchinginfinity I was thinking about 7, which is the most you can take junior year I think because APUSH is 2 semesters, 1 honors credit, 1 ap. My friend also signed up for 7 so I want to stay competitive with her haha

APUSH, AP Lang, AP Physics 1, AP Physics C, AP Compsci A, AP Gov, and APES
I think if I manage my time well, I’ll be able to handle everything since I know of other people who have taken and gotten As in 4 semi-hard APs a semester.
idk I probably need a math lol so I’m not really sure what I’ll do about that

^Your school splits APs into semesters? Ahhh lucky…so you won’t be taking 7 APs simultaneously, but you’ll still have the 7 AP credits D:

Yep! It’s nice but then it’s a pain in the spring because the spring semester starts mid january and we don’t have much time to prepare for the AP exam and my teachers freak out lolololol

@Almondjoy7 We have nine periods a day but there’s also an option to take a science class or gym class (only Mon-Thurs tho) before school. Science is double period too. I think I’ll just have to skip debate junior year and pick it back up senior year (because it has to be a major credit class). :’(

I’ve heard APES is relatively easy so that may be a good alternative to AP Physics C or even AP Physics 1 and 2. AP Stats sounds pretty cool. Ugh… I wish I could take that all the classes without it being overwhelming (which is like impossible). I heard that class isn’t particularly hard either but it’s more legit than APES, which some think as a joke, so you should take that. You can always self-study APES if you really wanted to. Many people have aced the AP test by studying simply a few weeks/days (depending on the kind of learning you are) right before the test.

I’m planning on taking 4 or 5 - APUSH, AP English Language, AP Physics 1, AP Physics 2, and maybe AP Psychology. I’m still not sure. Does everyone in the nation need an earth science credit or does it depend on your state?

Schedule A:
AP Psych
APUSH
AP Enviro
AP STAT
Acc. Math 3
STEM Physics
English

Schedule B:
AP Psych
APUSH
Spanish IV
AP STAT
Acc. Math 3
STEM Physics
English

^ are basically my choices at this point

@gbrl10 I think it depends on your state. We don’t have an earth science. We just a physical and bio science requirement.

@loltired: She has a grudge over a NINETY?! That’s crazy. I wish I was smart enough to give up an entire subject for a 90, lol. And haha, I hate this edit function that doesn’t let you go back to fix those annoying gramatical errors. ;)

@PurpleStarfall: That’s neat that you have the option for an extra class, although it seems like it would be alot!! It also sucks that science is double blocked- that’s definitely not the case for me here. I totally understand why you’d have to skip debate, although that sucks. Do you compete in debate?

My only issue with not taking Physics instead of APES is that I don’t want to overwhelm myself. I’ll have one of the hardest APs at my school on my plate (AP Chem), and I’m not sure if having 5 other pretty difficult APs would be too difficult. I’m really debating it right now. But APES definitely would be an easy one to self study for…

@gbrl10: I think it depends on the state. I don’t THINK I need an earth science credit at my school.

@PurpleStarfall I wish that was our requirement for science. I probably wouldn’t be taking APES if that was the case.

Has anyone heard of the AP Capstone program? My school is offering it starting next fall as a 2-year program to us rising Class of 2016’ers. Is it worth it? Does it look good to colleges?

@almondjoy7: Thanks! You’ll do amazingly on yours as well!
@jkpascale16: I haven’t had chemistry yet, so I’m going to go through Khan Academy’s chemistry videos (if there aren’t too many) starting Spring Break and continuing until the last week of April. From April-June, I’ll use Barron’s SAT Chem to prepare. If you’re going to take it, I suggest starting memorization of the polyatomic ions now. An alternate route involves me waiting until I finish reading through Zumdahl’s Chemistry over the summer for USNCO prep and just taking the exam then. I dunno what I’ll do, to be honest. At this point, I’ve got more immediate concerns–research work, AP cal, AP bio, etc.

@catchinginfinity @observeraffect
I’ll have a “How to get an 800 on SAT II Math 2C” thread up soon. Some others on the SAT II Math thread asked me the same question.

Next year, I’ll take AP Chem and AP Stats while self studying either AP Gov or one of the AP Econs. My relatively light AP load is due to the fact that I’ll be taking courses above AP level (cal III, biochem, etc.) as well as all honors courses (all of the courses at the sci/math academy I hope to attend next year are, at a minimum, honors level).

@TeamRocketGrunt
What do you want to major in when you go to uni?

@SwaggyC
I’m contemplating several options. Right now, I’m leaning towards double majoring in biochem and econ (or finance), or maybe double majoring in biochem and mathematics. I know that I want to go the pre-med track, and one of my majors will probably be biochemistry or something of that nature, but I’m also leaning towards double majoring. My second major is up for debate because I’m not sure what else I want to do besides medicine.
