High school class of 2016

I need a new pair of pants now after that, thanks

ayy lmao

@afroninja26 Did you get banned? Why is your profile pic in jail?

yo @TeamRocketGrunt‌ you are one rebel 2kewl4skool

but 4srs you guys can we film a TV show called CCers gone wild and it would just be @TeamRocketGrunt‌ using run-on sentences and forgetting apostrophes?

@AmbiD77‌

I leave out commas in my typing pattern, not apostrophes. Get it right.

hashtag shotsfired

OOOOOOH I’m gonna need to apply some ice to that burn @TeamRocketGrunt‌

ayy lmao

@TeamRocketGrunt‌
p.s. I think you meant “I leave out commas in my typing pattern not apostrophes” BAM #GetRekt

the topics that are discussed on this thread are all over the place… i don’t even know what the main topic is anymore…

ayy lmao

@teamrocketgrunt lol are you insinuating my views on the SATs are colored by insecurity over my performance or something? Don’t really see how that would make sense, as I did rather well on my PSATs for a sophomore (226, all 99th percentile- 14 points higher than your performance, no?), have gotten a 230+ on every practice test taken since then, and anticipate getting a 2400 with superscoring…

You guys seem to be stalwart defenders of the SATs- I could easily accuse you of something similar: only standing up for the standardized testing because it worked out in your favor, your fealty to the college board rooted in narcissism, the inflation of your own egos rather than authentic thought (the appropriate facts and stats extracted afterward, masturbatorily, once confirmation bias had set in). Instead, I direct you to some resources which can perhaps give you a more balanced view of the value of the SATs, and which point out potential flaws:

<a href=“The Story Behind the SAT Overhaul - The New York Times”>http://www.nytimes.com/2014/03/09/magazine/the-story-behind-the-sat-overhaul.html</a>

There’s also a NYT piece titled “save us from the SAT” or something similar. You can find more with google. And, just FYI, ya know what I feel would be a more effective indicator of college grades than the SATs? Um, high school grades (duh).

Of course, this is simply my opinion- and you may very well disagree- but I see no reason to be rude about it. That only makes you look quite petty. And if your flair for graph-paper free coordinate geometry solidifies your status as hard-core- just wait til you have to do three dimensional coordinate geometry/calc III problems, where graph paper isn’t even an option. Now that’s #hardcore.

@AmbiD77‌

I think you meant “I think you meant, ‘I leave out commas in my typing pattern not apostrophes’”

hashtag get rekt son

@Cloudchamber‌

I use my TI Nspire to do 3D stuff for calc III. #getonmylevel

In case you didn’t catch it, my “hardcore” comment was a joke.

As for my SAT prep, while you may have gotten a 226 while I got a 212 on the October 2013 PSAT, I’ve been taking practice exams from the Blue Book and have been scoring consistent 2300s (with one 22something). With a bit more prep. I’m anticipating a 2400 (or very close), so while our levels may not have been exactly the same last October, they certainly are very similar now.

Also, high school grades are no more effective than the SAT at being an indicator of merit because different high schools have different grading patterns. There are schools where grade inflation is rampant as well as schools where grade deflation is the norm.

@TeamRocketGrunt Exactly. Our levels are similar. So, why the insinuation of inferiority/insecurity? Seems pretty puerile to me.

As for your second point- let’s get empirical:

Also: I am well aware it was a joke. I was simply offering a variation.

@TeamRocketGrunt‌ 1v1 me irl brah, get rekt 2.0 GG son

but 5srs rn, 'twas a joke @Cloudchamber‌, throws lamp at you lighten up ;D

@TeamRocketGrunt‌

On a totally different note, you made the same error you attempted to correct: neglecting to use a comma before a quotation. You might want to fix that. There is also an omitted period that you should add. #GetRekt? Is that what the kids are saying these days?

@AmbiD77: yeah, you’re right, I probably took it too seriously. I’m bad at determining what constitutes a joke on the internet. I’ll try to lighten up a bit :slight_smile:

@Cloudchamber‌
I already acknowledged that my typing pattern omits commas, and it also omits periods. I also oftentimes leave out question marks at the end of interrogative statements when the statement itself is obviously a question. I do it because, in my years on the internet, my typing pattern evolved (or devolved?) to what it currently is. For stuff that actually matters (essays, reports, etc.), I make sure to use correct grammar. Besides, it was a joke (and the subsequent posts by @AmbiD77‌ as well as the ones by me were also jokes).

@AmbiD77‌ fite me irl not url brah i’ll hook u in ur gabber m8 GG no re
Listen here, you mickey mouse looking m-/ fcka. I’ve stood front and center of every internet war since 2005, I’m so anonymous I forget who I am sometimes. I’ll f you up in three lines of code, you little CC user, pop you like a unix kernel. I type them malicious memory addresses like the swiftest m-/fcka, point and laugh at your Norton pro covered babycake butt, heuristics ain’t shiznit but hoes and tricks, L337 h4x you into next week and back. You’re so done there’s no respawning kid, I’ll log you out

I hate CC censors

@TeamRockGrunt lol I know, but since the joke seemed to lie (to me, anyway) in the pedantry of the extended sequence of corrections, I thought I might as well take it all the way, to its most insufferable point. I’m sorry if that wasn’t clear- it was all in good fun :slight_smile: I totally get the whole “being colloquial and terse on the internet because why bother?” thing. My typing patterns on other sights are similar.

My new favourite phrases: “I’m so anonymous I forget who I am sometimes” and “heuristics ain’t shiznit* but hoes and tricks”

*stupid CC censor
