800 is good. 770 or above is acceptable.

@rumorsareflying
Personally, I’d say 750+ is strong enough to show mastery/very high proficiency in the majority of SAT subject tests. The two exceptions here are Chinese with Listening and Korean with Listening, which both have average scores above 750. So with the experience you have (assuming you’ve taken the hardest bio classes available), plus some extra studying and a practice test or two you could probably pretty easily get the 750.

I’ve taken honors bio and self study AP bio. I just love the subject.

I love the subject so much that I would spend hours a day poring over biology textbooks over the summer. I wish I still had time to do that, but my dual enrollment class takes up all of my time. Anatomy and physiology at the college level is what inspires me to work hard so I can get good grades and become a doctor. I can spend hours doing clinical application questions just because they’re so interesting.

Just wondering, has anyone tried emailing CollegeBoard to get PSAT scores earlier? I don’t know how you’d prove your identity but has anyone attempted this ? lol

@rumorsareflying I love biology, dude. My guilty pleasure is reading research on molecular biology, like mitochondrial DNA or micro-RNA. Pub med rocks.

I picked up a college level biology textbook yesterday on the “Free to a good home” shelf at the library yesterday. It’s not the most recent edition of the book, but it has excellent infusions of bioethics and research topics.

I logged into QuickStart yesterday and it appears that the scores have been sent out but you need access codes to view them. My GC is probably going to go over the scores next week.

@rumorsareflying I think bioethics are pretty important. Last year I did a project on how paired collaboration effects ethical opinion on stem cells.

If you go onto the PSAT thread and onto page 125 you can access your PSAT scores early. What did you guys get?I got a 217 and I’m in Florida.

@ZucchiniSoup Congratualtions! DS got a 212 (in Florida also), which means we really won’t know for sure until next September. :(

congrats guys! I got a 215, which for NY is just a few points under the cutoff I was kind of upset, but I know I’ll kill it on the ACT next week to make up for it!

I don’t know whether or not I actually scored myself accurately, but if I was right I got a 201! Considering it went up 13 points from last year, I’m pretty happy.

221…hopefully the New York cutoff doesn’t go above a 220 this year?

Lol I got a 176 if that’s correct. I’m disappointed, but I’ve been studying for the SAT a lot and hopefully I will break 2000 in January. The last time I took the official practice test last week I got a 2010.

For today’s SAT, I think I got 3 wrong for Writing, none wrong for Math, and 2 wrong on Reading. Should I cancel my scores, if I’m aiming for a 2300+?

I already took SAT once, so this one has to be 2300+

I’m going to be honest, I’m too nervous to go through the questions and check my scores.

If I calculated it correctly, I got a 202, Florida. Aw. Don’t even have a chance.

Found out that today’s SAT is exactly the same as November 2013’s. I regret not going onto a Chinese website and finding that SAT and practicing it.

I think I’m going to apply to Princeton’s free summer journalism program. I’m pretty sure it’s a long shot, but I have an interesting background story and
I fit into what Princeton considers low income.
I know I write well, but I’m worried that I don’t write well enough.
