High school class of 2016

Ugh I’ve already started crying about those AP tests… anyone took their SATs yet or are planning on taking them soon?

@queenn22 I took my SATs already. Not so satisfied with the score :frowning: (1450), so I’m definitely retaking it probably October next year because I need more prep time

@Ngzk07‌ is that without writing? I’m taking it in March after my SAT prep class thing and depending on that score maybe in October next year

I’m going for my second attempt on the SAT I in March- I did ok in Dec but hope to do better, especially because I didn’t prepare much. Not that I have time to prep for the March exam or the June Sat IIs either :stuck_out_tongue:

Planning SATII for June. Super worried about APs, especially the ones I’m self studying because I might not be able to study them in time.

Junior year has seen a huge improvement in grades (all As right now), but my planned ECs, including self study stuff, have fallen a lot. Happy about my grades, but if I could somehow plan everything perfectly, I would accept a few more A- and do all the ECs that I had planned to.

hey do you think AP Calc BC and Math II share the same level of content for at least calc?

my grades dropped from last year since I switched schools (lol @ my ec list), but I’m still on top of the 4.0 scale

@crimes‌
Math II involves everything through Pre-Calc. It really shouldn’t include anything advanced in AP Calc BC.

I have to retake the ACT in April, and then do SATIIs in June (US History & Chem, with either Lit or Math II as a possible third choice, though I’m leaning more towards Lit).

If I could go back to August I would:
-join the school’s improv comedy group
-get a job
-take Print Media or Graphic Communications
-get 6+ hours of sleep per night
-get more help with precalc earlier in the semester

I have A’s in everything except AP Chem (solid B) and precalc (low B) but I’m passing so I don’t care too much :stuck_out_tongue:

So I’m in a fine arts program that’s separate from my high school for part of the day for chamber music and post-AP music theory. I’m planning on auditioning for two other classes there, voice and sound engineering. I’m pretty confident that I’ll make it in both, but it would leave room for only two classes senior year.

I have at least four credits in all the core subjects, and I’m definitely taking Spanish 3 and 4 next year. My senior schedule would be those two Spanish classes and four arts classes.

Think that’s an okay decision?

Yes if you meet the course requirements for your planned major at your colleges of choice.

And welcome @funkygrandma‌
My top choice is an LAC, but I also have national unis in my list.

So how are you guys doing second semester?

ARGGGHHHH I need to finish (or at least start) first semester exams first :frowning:

I’m still on segment one for one of my online courses.

How many APs are you guys taking next year? I’m looking at 7 right now, but I’m not sure how I feel about taking so many senior year on top of college applications.

@glasshours‌ 7

@glasshours‌

2 .-. Out of 7 available time slots:

  1. Linear Algebra
  2. Japanese 4
  3. Theology requirements
  4. Theology requirements/Senior Project
  5. AP Art History (which might actually be removed, then I will have to take a non-AP visual art requirement)
  6. AP Literature (only if I can get in)
  7. Ambiguous here (I might take an AP, but I would prefer Speech because I want to improve on my speaking skills)

So basically, it’s possible I won’t take any APs next year, which would be horrible. If I can’t get either AP Art History or AP Literature, I’ll probably take AP Chem instead of Speech. How are you guys able to take 7 APs in one year? It’s literally impossible for me. I’m only getting about 7 in school APs in total, plus at least another 2 self studies.

how much time does it take to self-study an AP?

@crimes‌

Depends on the AP. This is the first year I’m self studying, so I’m not completely sure. It’s basically an extra class, without some of the fluff, though.

I want to do Calc in a semester :confused:
