@jdschooled5 Thanks and same to you for FSU!
@jdschooled5 Yeah, that’s what I was thinking. It’s not worth spending an arm and leg for my bachelor’s degree if it’s my masters/PhD that’s going to actually matter. I’ve thought about UF and University of Miami. I have a friend that’s at Miami, and they seem to have great sciences. At the same time, I’d have to worry about housing and stuff.
@Woandering Haha, I don’t exactly love the idea of staying home, but the convenience is probably worth it.And I’ve looked into UCF professors for the point of trying to get labs for science fair. Some of the research they’re doing is definitely interesting. Only issue is that they’re a bit out of the way in a research location.
@Gatortristan I know the feeling of wanting to get away from everyone in high school. There’ll probably be a lot of people that I know if I went to UCF. My sister goes there and she runs into familiar faces all the time. At the same time, though, it’s a pretty big school. Good luck with Cornell!
Its almost sad to be in the 2nd semester of junior year… Time flew so fast
@Woandering I’m a resident from California and I’m looking at a full ride to a CSU Top 8 CSUs are: San Luis Obispo, San Diego, San Jose, San Francisco, Sonoma, Humboldt, East Bay, and Fresno. I’m a resident of Long Beach and have guaranteed admission to Long Beach State but I personally want a whole new experience…which is why San Diego is the only one that is in the heart of Southern California lol, yes there are UCs but to be completely honest they are more like campuses for graduate school and are intense (especially LA and Berk), at least in my eyes, I know other people who oppose however.
To Californians who are viewing this post, there ARE full rides available to CSUs, a huge misconception was done because of the budget cuts and all of that crap that’s been happening. Fresno State, Long Beach State, Cal Poly Pomona, San Diego State, and a couple of more have Presidential or near to full rides…it’s all a matter of research people.
Would any 2016ers be so kind to chance me.
@Dilan412 I just did. You have a very good chance at Wharton ED!
Dilan you’re legacy you should be fine.
I’m getting worried about applications, all I can do now really is retake the SAT, write good essays, and magically become hispanic or black to improve my chances.
Started studying for AP Stats today. Gonna try to finish up the Barron’s book by next week. Fifteen chapters in 9 days. Woo.
@TeamRocketGrunt I expect to just magically get 5’s on my 4 AP Tests… I also started studying like today, 3 weeks before the test.
Is it really necessary to study if we’re in the class? I feel like the teacher should have prepared us well enough for the test…We’re doing old problems and all that in the class…
Yeah I only started studying for psych and thats cause it’s mandatory to do practice tests.
Meh… I look at AP tests as “optional” even though I have to take them. They are not going to impact my college admission decision or anything but its good to have some good starting credits am i right? Same for SAT II’s.
I’m taking Chemistry, United States History, and English Language and Composition. I’m kind of terrified. I am NOT a great test taker in the slightest. Let the freaking out commence.
IBGuy, yeah I don’t stress about them either. I got all 4s last year, whatever. I’m signed up again for four APs next year but probably won’t take any unless for credit.
SAT 2s on the other hand impact college admissions depending on the school.
@ErenYeager Yea, because blacks and hispanics have it so easy…
Affirmative Action was the best thing that happened to URM students… too bad it is banned in California.
I am debating on wether to take SAT II’s (Math and Physics) for Applied Mathematics. Some universities say it is recommended for like engineering but my major is in a different college… I still have to study for my SAT. Aiming for 2000+
Thank God affirmative action is banned for the UCs. Or else, there would be significantly more suicides in the Asian community.
Self reporting AP scores can have some effect on your application, but your grade probably matters more. And you can’t choose to report some AP scores and not others, because that will be suspicious.
@Woandering - Hm, there’s actually a recently published article on the Times about suicides in Palo Alto.
@IBGuy101 I have to disagree. It may be my hubris, but I prefer getting something based on my own merits rather than because someone feels sorry for what their ancestors did to my ancestors.
@ErenYeager I’ve been wanting to say for a while, nice pic and name. Attack on Titan is awesome.
