@awakeningvenus good for you! I usually cannot sit well with injustice so I am not afraid to schedule an appointment with my principal if needed…it’s really great that you are addressing this issue because it demands serious attention. Tell me how it goes!
We don’t really have field trips at my school and we only have the AP program at our school but we offer 17 of them! What career path are you pursuing?
btw I actually met with the assistant principal today about an issue too so you aren’t alone hahaha
Junior year research paper=dead me.
ugh us history EOC + ap physics 1 exam in 2 weeks. not feeling too hot about physics… done well in the class all year long (has become my favorite science) and took a practice test and just kinda went “welp… i’m screwed!” lol
@XoXdreamerXoX
I feel for you - I have 10 primary and secondary sources due next Thursday, and my supervisor wants 4000 words (basically a full draft) before Senior year starts -.- What’s your research paper on?
what kind of ECs do you guys do?
@XoXdreamerXoX we had to do our research paper in the beginning of the year! Back then, it seemed like a horrible idea but now with all the SAT/AP/life stress I am so glad that we didn’t have it at the end of the year!
@QuirkyClarkie Sounds like a lot. Thankfully my teacher doesn’t much care about out research paper and wants us to have it done ASAP because of the AP exam coming up.
I’m doing mine over the lack of comprehensive sex education in U.S. high schools. It’s due tomorrow. I hate this, haha.
@QuirkyClarkie
She basically gave us 4 days to do the 3000 words of it.
@XoXdreamerXoX No way! My community service group is trying to get administration/the counselors to change our sex ed curriculum here, because they basically preach abstinence (when over half of the high school engages in “sexual activity”), so your essay topic sounds interesting. But 3,000 words in 4 days? Yikes! Good luck!
If you guys had to choose between being valedictorian and student council president, which would you choose?
I’m currently val and I’m running for student council president, but this year they say they’re requiring that elected officers take a student council class, which would not be counted for GPA- but because of the way the math works out, it’d still bring down my GPA in comparison to my competitors. Probably not that much, but potentially enough change my rank, and maybe significantly.
(Now, it’s possible that my GPA is so far ahead that I might be able to be student council president, take the class, and still be val, but I have no idea if this is the case. I don’t know how close the GPAs are in rank- never been shameless enough to ask.)
@LikeThis It really depends on what’s important to you. Do you pride yourself more in leadership, or academics? I think I’d take the student council president position. You’d still be in the top of your class if you became president, albeit you’d face the risk of losing a spot or two in rank. However if you chose valedictorian over being president, it’s not like you’d have another student council position to fall back on.
@NectarInASieve Haha, I’m not sure what I’m planning to pursue as a career, but I’m currently interning at a dental laboratory and I’m planning to intern over summer elsewhere. I feel like high school is about exploration. I’m interested in STEM fields as well as business, entrepreneurship, and human resources.

Oh! Now I volunteer for Project Downtown Orlando. Once a month, we package food and hygiene products and distribute it to people who are in need of it. I started on Sunday, and it’s really rewarding.
Around 10 universities. Anything over that is overkill and a waste of money.
@Likethis definitely do leadership class!
I also think we shouldn’t get competitive on this thread by comparing GPA/ECs/SATs.
I’ll probably only apply to 7-8.
We’re doing a talent show for the last day of school. I just realized I have no talent, unless mental math counts and it’s pretty lame.
Looking at everyone’s achievements and I’m just the manager for our schools basketball team…
If you makes you feel any better I thought I was getting a B in my dual enrollment class but I just dropped to a C for a final grade… f m l…time to change my standards and aim for UF…
@XoXdreamerXoX same only 7-8. Applications are expensive, no need to apply to 14 schools when you’re only going to one.
If I don’t get accepted EA to either of the two schools I apply to EA, I’ll have to apply for app fee waivers for the rest of the schools. Senior year is going to be crazy expensive.
