High school class of 2016

also dont be me if you watch paper towns in theatre. dont be the only guy-only group who came to watch paper towns for the story. pretty embarrassing when every other group is a couple or an all-girl group. we were kind of jeered at.

:frowning:

I’m just going to read Looking for Alaska around the time the movie comes out because then the new copies will be on sale for less than $7 at Half Price Books. I got Paper Towns for $6.30-ish that way.

@JaeHwanLoL I wouldn’t worry about it. You do you and be proud of it. Have your own interests and don’t let stereotypes tie you down. It’s kind of like me and physics. My teacher and the guys in AP Physics were pretty ruthless with their thinking that I have no right to like physics and be good at math because I’m a girl. Also, I’m still not going to watch a movie online. I’d feel too guilty about it.

well i kind of almost cried at the end of paper towns. sooooo

EDIT: my entire 4 asian guy squad kinda got emotional :I

So did Nat Wolff while portraying his character, Quentin. I don’t know if that is entirely different, though.

-_- pls

It’s not bad. It’s just the fact that society has made you believe that it’s bad to have emotions. Well, certain emotions.

I dont know how I feel about Cara D acting. I’m not really into the whole models becoming actors/actresses. Maybe cause I never really got into John Green but from the trailer, the movie seems a tad boring. l may just watch it once it hits on demand or something but I dont think its worth going to the movies for

@JaeHwanLoL Is it different from the fault in our stars or is it about the same

@LordBendtner many say its inferior to FIOS but I thought it was decent and kind of funny. you will be surprised at the end unless you didnt read the book but overall i rate 7.3/10

@JaeHwanLoL well I fell asleep during FIOS but if it was funny I guess I’ll give it a try

Still have yet to read and watch Paper Towns. I’m alright with John Green’s writing, but to be honest I guess I didn’t have any immense feelings like everyone else did at TFIOS.

I didn’t cry while watching TFiOS, but I did cry while reading it. Probably because it was the middle of the night (2-ish, maybe?) and I had been going through a particularly horrible round of midterms. It wasn’t that I did badly on them, it was just the fact that I had 8 exams in two days.

I kinda want to say moral of the story for paper towns but it would give so much of it away

Paper Towns was my least favorite John Green book by far. Never really connected with it, and I always thought Margot was more of a b**** than a mysterious character…

Out of all of John Green’s books (besides Abundance of Katherines and that other super obscure one, which I haven’t read), my favorite was probably Looking for Alaska. It got a bit long and juvenile (? not sure if this is the right word, but don’t know how to describe it any other way) in the middle imo, but I liked the idea a lot.

When we’re describing research projects, should we put it layman’s terms or give the title of our actual research project and feel free to use technical terms? It’s a bit difficult explaining it in less than 150 characters.

I applied to a U-Haul job.

I also applied to an MIT fall program.

I’m 99.99% certain I’ll get rejected from both.
