I don’t know how I’m even going to start my college app essay. I know the prompt is there but I don’t want to write some generic essay. Any tips?
I have the whole common app filled besides counselor info (I don’t know who my counselor is yet) and my essay. The fact that this essay determines my future isn’t helping.
I’m probably the most nervous I have ever been over anything this month. Guys, we’re near the end (of HS)…

I’m being completely honest here, F the Common App, I’m not going to apply to any college that requires it, all of my top choices don’t require so I don’t care. Its things like these that are corrupting and ruining our education system and our society in general.
Done with 90% of my summer homework (probably going to procrastinate my 5-page research paper until the last day of summer, though…), nearly finished filling in the UC app, and filled out 95% of the CommonApp/member questions (sans essays). Not looking forward to writing a million supplements.
Those questions actually took WAY longer than expected.
How do you guys have summer homework?? What does that even entail?
And I actually like the common app. I don’t think it’s ruining society lol. It’s pretty convenient
For the activities are you guys just going to list them out on your common app or also upload a resume to schools that have that option?
I honestly don’t know what counts as an ‘activity’. I’m super confused.
Anyone know if colleges mind if you choose another counselor to write your rec rather than the one who’s listed as your counselor in Naviance?

I think my list of activities might help clarify what counts as one. Wrestling (sport), Environmental club, Habitat for Humanity, Trivia, Piano, Marching Band, NHS, TASC (volunteer work), Soccer Referee (paid work), and volunteer for political campaign.
@2016senior I do unpaid babysitting for a neighbor of mine 8 hours a week. I tutor her and do other babysitting stuff. Would that count for anything?
@XoXdreamerXoX yea that would count as an activity. You can mention if you are unpaid if you want or don’t mention if your paid or not at all
Has anyone not taken an AP class because the summer assignment was too long?
