High school class of 2016

Why does my score report say my gpa is a 4.33?

my act score report says I have a 3.92

I just checked and it said my GPA was a 4.0. My UW GPA is definitely not a 4.0.

Its based on the information you gave when you registered I think

School starts on the 17th, and I haven’t started the summer assignments for the five AP classes I’m taking.

@awakeningvenus I would shake your hand for how hard you just procrastinated! Many of us are most likely on the same boat as you. As for me, I have 4 AP classes, AP Lit having a summer assignment which I haven’t started yet.

@Darknez I’m a certified procrastinator. Physics and calculus assigned tedious math work, psychology I just have to research a specific list, and I have to do readings & projects for literature and government. /Theoretically/, if I work a few days non-stop, I should be fine. I’ll start tomorrow - maybe.

@awakeningvenus Certified? Ha! I got a Ph.D in Procrastination. Stop lying to yourself about starting tomorrow “maybe”. A real “certified” procrastinator such as yourself should think “my assignments are due on August 17th which means I should do them on the 17th”.

I’ve not started my Lit assignment. Reading The Iliad just hasn’t seemed appealing even though I always have the book with me.

@md1998 You can take Physics 1 and self study AP Physics C (did you take a physics course yet?) or take another course and self study Physics C. It’s up to you really.

@awakeningvenus LOL, got any tips for me? I have two classes to finish my the 14th and i still have 27% to do on one and 75% on the other.

@XoXdreamerXoX Reading the back of the book makes the book more interesting than it is. There’s always Sparknotes!

@TheSlacker16 i took honors physics this year

@md1998 AP Physics 1 (and 2) is just AP Physics B broken apart. The information is essentially the same as honors physics.

I was so looking forward to being able to slack off senior year… but my fall semester schedule is by far more terrible than any before…

@Darknez Haha, fair point. Last year, it got to the point where I went to school planning to finish assignments in the class periods before they were due. It got crazy.

@TheSlacker16 Lol, I don’t know man, good luck with that.

I feel like teachers are just ASKING for us to procrastinate… I mean if we do all our summer reading and homework early, we’ll just forget by the time they quiz us on it. So might as well just absorb all the information a week before school… lol

Anyways… so is everyone else completely freaking out over the common app essay too? There’s just so much pressure asdfghjkl :-<

im freaking out my ap lit class, my teacher is an extreme first-day-of-school-test advocate, 2 essays, 2 quizzes, 2 passage annotation tests

WHY LIT

What types of summer work do you guys have to do? For english i have to read one book and write an essay, for AP Econ we have to take notes on the first 3 chapters of the textbook and answer 3 short answer questions (8 sentences each), and then for AP Environmental I have to watch a ted talk and answer questions, answer questions about the first 3 chapters of the textbook, and write an essay about an article.

@md1998 for AP Gov I have to read federalist paper 10 and answer questions on it, summarize 5 current supreme court cases, and keep tabs on all the candidates for 2016. AP Psych psychoanalyze the main characters in 2 movies, write index cards for chapter 1 terms, and learn the basics of psychology. AP Calc AB 1 hour review assignment. AP Bio read a book and summarize each chapter (did last year but I ended up taking Physics 1 instead due to scheduling conflicts) and read the first 2 chapters of the textbook

@awakeningvenus That’s been the norm for me
@md1998 For AP lit I had to read and annotate the some 600 page book about black nationalism so I just dropped it. For AP Physics C/AP Calc BC I have to do about 100-120 review questions for each. AP Econ I have to read Naked Economics and write a page journal for each chapter. For AP Gov I have to do a journal for 25 court cases which is long, read the constitution and answer a bunch of questions, and current events journal each week throughout the summer which I have yet to start.

@md1998
AP Gov: read this 1000 page book (everyone shmooped it lol) and write an essay comparing it to US government
AP Lang: read a book and answer questions, memorize vocab + Lang tools
AP Stats: nada
AP Calc: nada

so yea I guess I don’t have it nearly as bad as you guys :-"
