Just got a good story to use for a college essay
Ugh, all of my friends are so far along in the application process while I’m just trying to get my common application essay done… I wrote one a few weeks back, but it ended up turning out really bad so I scrapped it and have to restart. It’s stressing me out, and school’s starting for me tomorrow.
@allista I feel that. I’m internally flipping out.
I have ideas for my Common Application essay, but nothing that stands out. I think that I’m overthinking things, but at the same time, I know that this piece of my application is going to be the only thing that’s /personal/, and with my less than stellar scores and statistics, I /need/ something to make me stand out if I want to get out of Florida.

Crap I have to turn in the final draft of my college essay to my Lang teacher in 12 hours but I LITERALLY HATE EVERYTHING I’VE WRITTEN

@awakeningvenus Same, I feel like winning a huge international award or finding the cure to cancer would surely take some pressure off of writing the essay. But alas, here we are. ~X( :-<

@LordBendtner really? At my school it’d be a lost cause because we only send 30-40 to 4 year universities every year, out of a class of 560
How does it work, does your teacher give you feedback and all? What if your C essay gets you into Harvard? 
Ok so someone just got shot in my town…
Oh no! Hope everything’s fine. @basedchem Unfortunately someone gets stabbed/shot every night where I live, so I’m pretty used to this kind of news. Scary world man
@SippinCoffee There’s a city really close to where I live where there always seems to be a shooting or stabbing or something. It’s awful! Hope everything is okay, @basedchem !
Another guy just got shot… Shooter still at large >.<
@SippinCoffee This is the first shooting we’ve had in years… The last one we had was in eighth grade, when a guy went ballistic and shot up his workplace, killing 4 of his coworkers. Still had to go to school though…

@basedchem Stay safe! My town is poor, but not extremely dangerous, & crimes been rising (from a neighboring city), & there were gunshots RIGHT outside my house last week.
@quirkymath My school forces us to write an essay, although most students don’t go to college. If they do, it’s usually a CC.

Made it through the day alive! Was too scared to go off campus during free runs today…
Finally finished my CommonApp! Giving it to my English teacher tomorrow to make sure I didn’t make any grammatical errors, but everything’s pretty much finalized

Just for fun, which prompt did you guys choose and why did you choose it? I chose prompt 5 and wrote about my experience studying abroad. It’s not the most unique essay but I had fun writing it and it brings back wonderful memories whenever I edit/proofread it.
