High school class of 2016

@Bassoonapus is that German?

@Soccerchic24 He hasn’t been on for the last three years. I wouldn’t expect an answer anytime soon.

How are all of your college apps going? I’ve been so busy that I’ve barely had time to start mind  Luckily (or unluckily), my school has an internal deadline for all college apps in mid-November, so I won’t end up sending in my apps on December 31st in a panic.

@QuirkyClarkie - I finished my CommonApp, but this was back in August and I haven’t written a complete supplement since. Really need to get my act together, but homework…

Finished my CommonApp too, and I’ve finished one Why essay. My early deadline schools should be fine, but I really wish I could see the result before starting on the other ones.

@XoXdreamerXoX I have the same issue with asking my GC for a rec. We’ve met less than ten times! Although we only have 250 seniors, your school is huge!

My school consists of 4200 students. Not exactly favorable when we need our counselors to write recs.

I went to a college fair and the only thing I got out of it was a rep asking my friend and I if we were dating. :-< Happens to us a lot.

I just applied to Eastern Nazarene, since it was free. My scores & GPA are higher than their average, except for my terrible math score. It seems to be a great fit, although it’s smaller than my high school!

My GC recommended ENC today. For some reason, he’s not showing me any larger schools…even ones I’m interested in!

Has anyone here seen the scorch trials yet

No, but I really want to. I haven’t even seen Maze Runner yet oops.

Must be nice to have CommonApp done… :-<

Yo everyone what kind of questions should i anticipate for an interview
I’m getting interviewed for the Annika Scholars Program in WashU and I’m kinda nervous tbh

@baller55 I’ve gotten interviewed before. They’ll start with pretty generic stuff: “Tell us about your school.” “What do you like to do?” Things like that. If you mention something repeatedly, they’ll ask again, but in more detail. “Why is “x” important to you?” “Describe “x” to me. What do you do there?” They’ll ask questions about your character. “Tell us about a time when you struggled. What did you do?” “hypothetical situation What would you do?” That’s the bulk of the interview. When you leave, ask for a business card, and ask if they would like your resume (after you have thanked them for their time of course).

It always takes me my first B on a test to stop struggling in a class. I should probably study harder for biology and English.

I just had a nervous breakdown over a physics quiz. Wooaaah. I need to chill out. Physics is important to me and I built up my teacher’s (physics 1 AP last year, physics 2 AP this year) expectations of me so much that I’m mortified that I might slip one day and he’ll be disappointed. Then I’d be even more disappointed in myself. My friend had to talk me out of it.

I need a break or something.

I definitely need a break.

Ugh. I came in late to AP Stat (schedule change) and she assigned me 3 assignments over things I’d never seen before. I have a 78 and the marking period ends in 2 weeks. I hate this so much.

@XoXdreamerXoX I know you think your teacher’s opinion of you depends on your grades, but it is really based on how hard you’ve worked in that class and how you’ve helped others, taken on responsibilities, etc. One bad grade is not going to change their opinion of you. You’ve worked hard for the past three years, colleges will values that more than one grade in senior year when they know you’re stressed about college applications and balancing the most rigorous curriculum. We’re all rooting for you!

ayyyyyyyy class of’16 here
