High school class of 2016

…I honestly think in my SAT Subject Tests, the true background of my school will come out. I didn’t learn any of this before and I’m just cramming.

Correction: I learned the very basics…only enough to get me past 10-ish questions in a timely manner for both physics and math 2.

What is that one feature CC has where you can look at stats for students applying to a specific school

I think it’s the College Profiles

@letmeseetheworld What school(s) was it? My scores are delayed as well.

@letmeseetheworld broad ideas as in “My week in Nicaragua inspired me to help the less fortunate in the future.”

I feel when people write about such a general thing they usually aren’t sincere and are looking for meaning in something after the fact which is why its so broad. Whereas they could say “My week in Nicaragua made me realize the impact micro finance has had on the local communities, inspiring my desire to pursue a major in economics.”

I also feel the same way. Really hoping my essay could make a difference. My ACT and school grades are good but I haven’t taken any subject tests. And I don’t have any major awards in my ECs so…

Just submitted my last early app!

Also, Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween guys!

I have a question: Is the early application deadline Nov 1st (Sunday) night at 11:59PM or is it Oct. 31 (Saturday) night at 11:59PM?

@LikeThis Yale. I can apply to my state school’s EA program if I’m doing Yale scea right?

Also, my test scores are really not that good and I don’t know how I did on this past ACT so I really tried my best on the essays.

Sup guys. How’ve apps been?

EDIT: Just saw that I have 1937 notifications. GG.

Just finished sending out all of my early apps. I expected to feel relieved, but now I just want the results to come out. 40-ish more days to go!

Just finished the CSS Profile for my EA schools. It was a lot longer than I thought it would be.

…should I really report a failing AP Physics 1 score to MIT?

I’m really starting to question my decision to do so.

Should I email undergraduate admission if I didn’t self report my APUSH score on my app?

@XoXdreamerXoX: I don’t think you should to MIT, since scores for them are more crucial in the app process.
I’m not reporting some stuff for the RD application just because it’s MIT :-??

@Mochis1 So just put that I took the class but leave a blank by the test score on the self-reported AP section?

(Note: that’s actually a really good idea…since I plan to be a physics major. I don’t want to raise eyebrows or anything.)

@XoXdreamerXoX: Yes. I heard that’s better, since I failed an AP exam and didn’t want to put that for my self-report.
Oh awesome, I was planning on majoring in physics or aerospace engineering at MIT! Are you doing EA? I’m doing RD.

@Mochis1 I’m doing EA. Majorly stressed out!

No one around me really knows what I’m doing and I barely know what I’m doing. I’m terrified my essays are good enough, but I just have to wait until December and see if I was deemed adequate or not.

That and my physics teacher hasn’t submitted his rec letter and my EC hasn’t submitted his interview report. I asked my EC earlier this week and he told me he’d have it in by tomorrow and that I shouldn’t worry…but I’m really worried.

So my counselor emailed me on Friday to tell me that if I wanted to be eligible for the Jefferson Scholarship, I had to apply EA to UVA. So that’s been fun, writing two extra supplements. Granted, they’re shorter (250 words each) but so not what I was expecting my Halloween to be like.

Then I find out that my parents have been telling people where I’m applying to even though I explicitly told them I didn’t want to tell anyone AND they agreed. I haven’t even told all of my friends where I’m applying!

On a different note, I wonder if schools put their EA/ED deadlines on November 1st because they know that the day before is a nightmare.

@QuirkyClarkie I was in the same position with my adviser. He told everyone I was applying to MIT and I found out because all of my classmates started asking about it and wanting to know about MIT. I went up to him and asked him why and he just said he’d stop, but it was too late since everyone knew already. Last week when I asked him a question about my MIT app, there were others in the room and he said “wow, you’re applying to MIT? I didn’t know that,” and just laughed it off. I was majorly upset. But yeah, I kind of know how you feel.

Okay, so is the deadline for most schools tonight or tomorrow night? November 1st is the deadline for most EA/ED colleges, but I’ve always been confused as to whether that meant tonight or tomorrow night. Probably tomorrow night. I overthink things.
