High school class of 2016

@kuriosmind (I’m LegendaryHIMYM, I just decided I wanted to change my username last minute, lmaoo) You are very welcome! Okay, I’ll definitely keep an eye out just in case you still feel unsure about them, but hopefully you don’t. I’m applying to Bryn Mawr, Emory U, Franklin & Marshall, Gettysburg College, Haverford College, Howard U, Johns Hopkins, Mount Holyoke, Syracuse U, University of Miami, UNC, UVA, Wake Forest, Penn State, UPitt, and Virginia Tech. I honestly don’t think I’m getting in to many of these schools. :-S

Speaking of crazy weather… there was a tornado in my Central Californian city on Christmas Eve. While the tornado did like almost no damage, it is crazy because we NEVER get tornadoes. And the National Weather Service has said that my area can also expect some light snow this morning which is also crazy because it has never snowed in my life; the last time is snowed here was in 1973, apparently. Weather is crazy, yo.

Finding out you ended the semester with the minimum points required for an A.

Finally submitted everything. Now I have to do a bunch of essays for local scholarships.

Lol, do I really have to put down the $5 in my wallet on my FAFSA for my own assets?

They mean your savings accounts, savings bonds and any 529 or other college account. @XoXdreamerXoX

Then I’ve got nothing, lol. Oh well. Doesn’t it seem weird to put down $0 though?

You don’t have a savings account? Maybe your parents have one in your name without your knowledge. I would definitely ask

@readingclaygirl I don’t. My parents haven’t opened one for me either.

Oh. I guess I assumed everyone has one. Oops

@XoXdreamerXoX Do people actually look down on deferred applicants? Geez with every acceptance, a person was just lucky enough. I wish I could set people straight with college admissions. Yeah getting into blah blah blah is great but if that’s your life’s biggest goal or achievement even till this point in your 17-18 years of life, reevaluate yourself.

I was going to write something, but I decided not to. Since I can’t delete my comments on here I’m writing this.

@Tookme10mins if it was about my comment, I didn’t mean to condemn or sound too standoffish. It’s just all these posts about the urgency of getting into ___ or the whole my life is over posts

You guys I got offered a merit scholarship for half tuition (a bit over $19,000) at FIT!!! Woohoo!!!

Aw, I wanted to see the comment. I was on a t-shirt viewing spree. The next money I acquire will be spent on t-shirts because they’re comfortable and convenient, lol. (I wake up 20 minutes before I leave the door for school–I don’t exactly care to match something so I just wear jeans and a t-shirt and either converse or vans. If chilly, I’ll throw on one of my college or senior hoodies. If cold, I’ll throw a coat or my letter jacket over that hoodie, lol. Thank goodness our new principal decided to not care about our dress code.)

Yeah. I don’t understand some people who can think so highly of themselves just because of an acceptance. Yeah, it’s great you got in, but it doesn’t make you a better person than those deferred or rejected. I was just wandering some of my applicant threads and people were throwing insults at the deferred and I’m just sitting here thinking, “woah there–the deferred haven’t been rejected, and they’re not lesser people than those admitted, and neither are the rejected for that matter.” It just puts me off that those admitted to a top 15 can think that way. Kind of scares me that if I do, by some off chance, end up at a top school, I’ll end up surrounded by such attitudes of “hey, I’m better than you and you’re trash.”

Yay @garcdanny26 <:-P Congrats!!!

@garcdanny26 Congrats!!! :smiley:

thank you everyone

Yay @garcdanny26 <:-P Congrats!!!

@garcdanny26 Congrats! I’m thinking of Fashion Institute but I could be totally wrong. All the really cool NYC youtubers go there and they seem so stylish
