Do you guys know if there’s anything like Science Olympiad at colleges too?
@kuriosmind aww thanks!
@nuimancel I think NASA has some competitions but idk if they are that SciOly-esque… I know there are some engineering-specific competitions out there though!
@chubii Ahh okay. I really liked the teamwork in SciOly so I was wondering if there’s something similar in colleges as well. Also working on my Why Penn supplement so I thought I could possibly integrate it. Thank you for the info though
Anyone else know anything?
@nuimancel I really like the team stuff about Scioly tooo!! and I’m also working on my Penn supplement! XD but I’m writing about medical stuff haha…
I just realized I have school Monday. X_X
It’s great to know I’m not the only one still working on supplements.
Same @Ngzk07 same. This break is going by very fast and I really haven’t done much. I don’t want to go back to school and math. Especially not math.
Any shred of optimism I had has been destroyed writing these supplements.
As soon as I wake up on Jan 1 I’m doing the FAFSA and CSS. Lemme just get it over with.
@Chrysanthemum14 Your parents get their forms that early?
@XoXdreamerXoX They want me to use their 2014 forms.
Ohh…haha, I can’t do that. My dad got a second job this year. It’d be pretty bad lying if I used the 2014 forms.
These college applications just burned a huge hole in our wallet…
@allista Since I’m done with apps, I’m recording everything I spent for the whole college process. Stay tuned guys.
Are you including SATs and SAT supplies? If so I’d estimate $700 for me, and I only applied to 5 schools. I bought lots of SAT books haha
Well then. Lol. I only bought used ones off Amazon. (Spent $35 total for SAT/SAT Subject/ACT). @ErenYeager
@ErenYeaher Yeah, I’ll include score reports, SAT/ACT, subject tests, study books, etc.
It’ll probably be over $1300…maybe. My dad wanted me to apply to 16 schools instead of 12 (the original plan was 10 but oh well) but thank god I got fed up and yelled at him haha.
16 is a lot!
I know someone whose parents made him apply to the top 30 newsweek schools. 30.
I bought used too, just a lot:
Black Book for SAT
Official SAT Book (blue book) <-this one was new
Erika Meltzer’s Guide to Writing section
Princeton guide
some specialty math book
some math 2 book
@Chrysanthemum14 lol, I think my parents would yell at me if I considered 6+ schools. Pretty sure my parents would kill me for anything over $1000+. Not like it matters cause they are just taking it from my money anyways
