If my interviewer said he’s going to be in a college sweatshirt, does that mean I should wear something casual (sweater + jeans) too?
@glasshours How spirited! Which school is it? And I think so. If you want to be more formal maybe a blouse + cardigan and jeans?
@glasshours I would go for semi-formal if I were you.
Thanks y’all, for last night. It’s was a conversation of how I have awful writing after having submitted everything (although I actually liked my essays). That was the last phone call I needed after having submitted my last college application.
@glasshours I went with a pair of black skinny jeans, a nice blouse, and a blazer to my MIT interview and my interviewer said, “you know this isn’t a formal event, right?”
I was left thinking, “so was I supposed to wear a t-shirt?” Lol.
when you finish your physics winter break assignment the day before school starts… lol. now that thats done with, gotta submit my last college application tomorrow (technically its all done, i just have to send them the money for the application fee), and then gotta finish that FAFSA (sooner i get it done, the better).
College apps are done w/ after tomorrow for me! WOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOO LETS GOOOOOOOOOO <:-P
I’m not ready to go back to school tomorrow :((
My final version of my EE is due Wednesday and only <2000 are usable. Waiting for the panic to set in to motivate me xD
I’ve been thinking about what I want to do in my life all day. I want to major in computer science, but I want to be a doctor at the same time. I just don’t know what to do!! I like programming, but I also like the idea of talking with patients and helping people.
For those of you returning to school tomorrow, I’m praying for you. You got this \m/
@SippinCoffee I seems like it was just yesterday that I was telling myself there were five more days until school…
@AcceptableName IKR. And about your previous post, I totally get how you feel! My parents always say this to me, and I’ll say this to you now… It’s okay if you’re life isn’t one big straight road. If I were you, I’d dabble in both of those interests. You might end up as a programmer only to trade it in for med school, or vice versa. Along the way, you’ll gain knowledge in a variety of things… not a bad thing at all! Later on, you’re computer sci skills might even help you land a job as a doctor. Don’t stress too much
So for notification dates, a lot of my colleges just say vague stuff like “by April 1” or “mid-March.” They don’t even say if it’s by mail or online portal.
Am I just supposed to keep checking my portals/mailbox? That’s a pain, I applied to ~15 schools.
Yale said “March 31st, in the evening EST.”
@LikeThis that’s what I’ve been doing. It’s so annoying, especially because my top choice says “mid-December through mid-January.”
When you find a typo in a supplement you already turned in…
@LordBendtner That was me. I put “off” instead of “of”. LOL. Hopefully they’ll be in enough of a rush to not notice.
@LordBendtner I’ve refrained from looking at my submitted applications because I don’t want to psych myself out if I do find a mistake. But a typo shouldn’t make or break you. Admissions officers are human (hopefully!) and should understand that people make mistakes.
@allista
This was a “what did you do over the summer” question so hopefully they don’t put too much into it.
