High School Class of 2017

@SallyStephens I’m a girl xD CC means community college.

Stanford’s been my dream college since I was eight (although it’s been everyone’s where I live, really). I’ve been there so often I pretty much know my way around part of their campus (not most of it, but just the front area). In fact, I’m going there next weekend for this program-thing they have called Splash (basically, students teach classes on stuff from Quidditch to 3D Printing).

I’m not really that smart–I know a lot of people who are a lot smarter than me (and a lot of people who have 4.0 GPAs).

@ThatOneWeirdGuy We need 40 hours to graduate, and if we want to do NHS, we need even more. I did 100 hours the summer before ninth grade, but they don’t count D: I want to do a lot of hours at once, though.

@topaz1116‌ OMG I HAD NO IDEA I AM SO SORRY. But that makes me happy because #girlpower

@SallyStephens Yaassss. Girl power is the best.

@topaz1116‌ Well anyways yeah that’s cool, though. My dream college is one of the Ivy Leagues, most preferably Harvard. I’ve heard it has a great dental program ^.^ UPenn would be great too–it’s the one my parents want me to go into, personally. My dad went to UPenn so you know how it is. But it’s up to me, which is great; they don’t force me to pick theirs necessarily.

Jumping into the dream college sha-bang.

I want to go to Stanford also, I’m pretty sure I can get an almost perfect, or perfect ACT/SAT and I plan on my GPA being 3.8, 3.9ish without any AP weight. (since I didn’t care freshman year, really) I also plan on having 130+ college credits by the end of HS and over 500 community college hours, and hopefully some (minor) discoveries in the Cancer research community.

I’m still not sure if that’s enough, or if I can get that. (Not sure if I can get almost perfect on ACT, I’m just hoping.) But whatever, I’ll work my butt off and if that’s enough at least I can say I tried.

PS - I just finished my lit homework. I procrastinated all weekend for that xD

@SallyStephens Yeah, I think the only things that my parents would be concerned about are 1) going to an expensive college with little financial aid and no scholarships, and 2) going far away from home.

But then, most of my top choices are in California anyways. The only one that isn’t is, like, MIT (because their professors are as awesome as Stanford’s). And I probably won’t even apply there.

UPenn was my sister’s dream school… It’s so pretty.

I know a girl who got into Stanford, Harvard, MIT, and Yale last year (also Cal and UCLA with the highest scholarship possible, among others)… She decided to go to Harvard, and she’s on their dance team and orchestra.

Like, I can’t. She’s really perfect and too modest (“Oh, I don’t even know why I got in!” says Miss Perfect).

@Teyrkis On the bright side, Stanford doesn’t look at Freshman year grades (I’m saved, too–I did really badly freshman year).

@topaz1116 WAIT WAIT WHAT REALLY?

WHERE DID YOU HEAR THIS THIS MEANS I MIGHT HAVE A CHANCE TOPAZ1116

@Teyrkis from the Stanford website:

“Transcript
We will focus our evaluation on your coursework and performance in 10th, 11th and 12th grades, primarily in the core academic subjects of English, mathematics, science, foreign language and history/social studies. We want to see that you have challenged yourself by taking accelerated, honors, Advanced Placement or International Baccalaureate courses if they are offered at your school.”

@Topaz1116 Hmm I think they still will look at it a little though. That’s good though! I might have a little chance!

My dream schools are MIT and Johns Hopkins. I probably won’t get into either. I’m taking the ACT this April. crosses fingers

There’s this guy at my school who is literally a genius and never makes a mistake, and he said he plans to go to MIT. Oh, and he took the ACT in the 8th grade and got a 32. :|

@ThatOneWeirdGuy I’m taking the ACT sometime this year, too! I was planning on December, but then life happened… I’m probably going to do the January or February thing.

The college that I’m probably going to apply to is Appalachian State University. They accept ANYONE…your GPA could be 2.5 and they’d accept you. Like, I dunno. It’s a big university, but I don’t know of any other college, besides Vanderbilt, that has an okay teaching program.

I don’t have big dreams.

@Thatonewierdguy Good friend of mine took it in 8th and got a 30 :P

I took the ACT in 7th grade and got a 29 ;)

Doesn’t JHU have a good teaching program?

Well, apparently these are the top 11:

And these are a top 15:

Yeah, I forgot you people are geniuses who never make mistakes too. xD

I’ll probably take the ACT Junior year. I would like to get AP Bio done before I do the ACT.
