LITERALLY MY PARENTS CONCERNS EXACTLY. To kind of make things better, I am signing up for literally every. single. scholarship possible as much as I can because I don’t want to cause difficulty for my parents. Harvard is very expensive, even for the richest of folks.

UPenn is extremely pretty!!

And aww so cute haha. Being modest is so good though:)

Thanks @topaz1116! I may reconsider where I want to go, but I don’t know. I’m kind of scared to go elsewhere because I want to teach in my state. The pay is SO SO bad, but it’s my passion. I think I’ll just go to ASU xD

@ThatOneWeirdGuy Don’t let that one guy make you think you can’t get in! You still can, its not a biggie.

I got the same thing as him in eighth grade … and I still doubt myself for an Ivy league. Valedictorians with perfect SAT and perfect ACT have been rejected to the biggest schools in the country, so I just want you to know you still have the same equal chance as him or anyone else, trust me!

@Topaz1116 Why haven’t you turned it in? Spanish is great at my school since we can basically turn things in whenever, and retake tests whenever!

@topaz1116 Essay contests are good, too. I LOVE POETRY; I have this thing where you could give me a prompt and I’d make a poem out of it in five seconds. Since I was in second grade, I just loved it so so much. Why can’t there be poetry scholarships lol What do you like to write???

@Teyrkis My teacher doesn’t accept late work. Last year I didn’t have to do my Spanish homework because my teacher never checked it, so I’m still getting used to the fact that I actually have to do work this year xD

@SallyStephens I write a lot of short stories and fanfiction, and occasionally poetry (I used to write a lot of poetry in third grade, but right now, I need a lot of inspiration to write poetry). I think there are poetry contests, actually. Are you going to enter the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards?

@topaz1116 That makes me feel a little better

@SallyStephens Thank you! (: I’ve heard Ivy League’s reject people with perfect scores and all, but there’s just such a difference in raw intelligence. That’s kind of what scares me. If this guy doesn’t get accepted to MIT, why would I? he deserves it much more than I do.

@SallyStephens That’s honestly disgusting… I know for a fact that teachers in my small school district get payed 655l after working as a teacher for 20 years. So many teachers are lazy, and positions at schools are probably attractive to people like that because they get summers off and what not. I’ve also read somewhere that public school teachers are at the lowest in SAT scores and things like that as far as college graduates go

But, there’s a lot of awesome and hard-working teachers. Tacoperson, be one of them :3

Yeah, “deserve” doesn’t really make any sense, but you get the idea. His merit is much higher than mine. But, I’ll be satisfied with OSU anyways.

@ThatOneWeirdGuy SHE IS A … I’m not going to even say it. She disgusts me. And OMG don’t get me started on how lazy and crazy she is and ugh… ugh ugh ugh ugh ugh ugh

She’s retiring after this year and everytime I walk into her classroom I want to just idk stick needles in my eye rather than stay in the room with her. All she does is MAKE FUN OF EVERYONE and make sarcastic jokes and discuss inappropriate things like sex and “drugs” and don’t even get me started on the one time she discussed King Tut’s genitals.

In North Carolina, the base salary for teachers is in the 20,000s. After a few years it can rise to 30,000, the median is 40,000 and some get paid above the 40,000. I kind of want to be a college professor as well, so I guess I’ll build my way up.

Like okay people- she is really really really mean. I’m about ready to start a thread on her just ranting about all the awful things she has done to students.
