High School Class of 2017

this kid hit my parked car today :///// at least he told a police officer about it. of course this happens to me

Essay due tomorrow. I have written half of my intro and my 1st body paragraph in a page and a half… Essay is like max 4 pages -_-

This is what I get for procrastinating, I mean, being swamped with homework so I can barely find time to work on my essay. :-<

I kinda got used to writing essays in one day lol. This helps me to write faster: write your body paragraphs first then go back and write an intro and conclusion. It’ll help you get right to work instead of fretting over the wording of the intro.

I’m really conflicted about the school clubs I want to join. There are so many at my school (over 120)! Right now, I’ve signed up for two volunteering and two science clubs, but I really want to expand my interests, like maybe join a music or cultural club.

So today the school board put out their minutes from the last meeting. On the agenda was something about changing the class schedule for the county high schools. The proposed schedule for next year will be 4 90 minute classes with an A day and a B day. We would have 8 classes, 4 one day and 4 another. Does anyone whose schools is like this have any input. The school asked us what we thought and I was unsure.

@greeneggsandsam9 Yeah, my school operates on that block scheduling system. I think it’s harder to stay attentive for such a long period of time, but having two days to do homework is pretty nice.

@greeneggsandsam9 my school utilizes that schedule. It’s very helpful for athletes and everyone really. It allows you to work ahead and even take a day off during the week if you’re not feeling it (assuming you worked ahead).

@greeneggsandsam9 Oh my gosh, it’s the greatest thing ever.

@greeneggsandsam9 I love block scheduling. You’ll get used to the long classes after a couple of weeks. Honestly the day feels shorter because there are only 4 classes a day. You also can go more in depth in different classes like do longer labs in chem and bio.

For those of you in APUSH, do any of you use the AMSCO book? Our school does and the book has some great practice questions. Only problem is, the only person who has the answers is the teacher. Does any one know where I could find the answer key? I checked online and could only find the 2010 edition

@greeneggsandsam9 I have that schedule for everyday except Monday’s . It’s super nice because like every one else says you have two days to do homework. However, on Mondays I end up having an day with all my classes which I hate because in a short period of time teachers like to give quizzes and give a buttload of hw.

Thank goodness my psat is on the 28th. I have fall break next week so my school had to do it on the 28th. Hopefully I’m productive and study hardcore for a week.

@athenav13 IBET you spent a 9 periods in biology/English/technology per week freshman year? Eh, CHUM?

lol just speculating.

@athenanv13 @iamnotironman @awesomepolyglot @jjlundy @Frigidcold Thanks for your input! Many students and teachers are confused (and therefore against) the idea of block scheduling. Now that I am informed I can let them know.

I have not studied for the PSAT at all, and I’ll barely have time to do so in the weekend since I have to go to SoCal. Maybe I’ll have time to study during finals and hopefully I won’t have that much homework to do next week, since it will be the beginning of a new term.

Never mind.

My PSAT is on Wednesday and I’m just sitting here and not doing anything.

@awesomepolyglot I’m sorry I have no clue what you’re talking about what’s CHUM and IBET?

Oh. If you’ve ever heard of TJHSST, they have those classes freshman and sophomore year. IBET is integrated bio, english, and technology, and CHUM is chem and humanities. TJ has that schedule, where they have all 8 classes (actually 7 plus one club or study period) on Mondays and then A day, B day the rest of the week.

@loquatical Me too. Except I have a bunch of homework this weekend so I don’t know how I’m gonna find time to study.
