High School Class of 2017

What type of food/snacks would you all recommend bringing to a class potluck type thing? Should I bake something or buy something?

@dsi411 I’m always that person who signs up for chips…they’re almost always on sale two for $6. xD

@YoohooAddict When you say radical, I’m assuming u mean square root.

  1. (x + √(x^2 + 1)) (y + √(y^2 +1)) = 1

divide both sides by (y + √(y^2 +1)) and simplify

    (x + √(x^2 + 1)) = (-y + √(y^2 +1))

Upon inspection, one can see that x=-y (like terms) (it can be quickly confirmed by looking at a graph)

Thus MOST precise conclusion would be B though D is also right, but less precise. Once again, no idea what the actual right answer is.

Guys, I wish I read this article before…http://blog.prepscholar.com/how-to-get-into-harvard-and-the-ivy-league-by-a-harvard-alum

@daman12356 How did you get (-y + √(y^2 +1)), it’s supposed to be 1/(y + √(y^2 +1))?

@dsi441 Whenever there’s a potluck of any kind, I always bring one of those trays of those store-bought sugar cookies? The really squishy ones, with the frosting and the sprinkles. Always goes over well, but it’s kind of a boring choice.

@athenanv13 You know, the more I read stuff like this, the less stressed that I actually become. If I had read this as a sophomore, I probably would’ve had a panic attack. I’ve put so much work into developing my academic portfolio, whenever I read stuff that says that I’ve been doing it all wrong, I can’t really do anything but say “oh well”. Not like I can really change anything, at this point, haha.

1990 SAT. Meh worse than I thought for CR (620 yikes), about the same for math (710), and better than I though on writing but worse for the essay (660 W 9 E) Probably gonna retake in December and January to get close to 2100.

How’d you guys do on the recent SAT? I heard the results came out today. Hope the best for those of you who took it!

1800 SAT. Way worse than I thought I did on math (620). 600 CR and 580 W (9 essay). Going to really have to study for the December one.

@MissRB0021 Lucky for you, math and writing are the easiest sections to improve in.

1840 on the SAT. I was really low for math :////// I don’t think it helped that I may have bubbled a math section wrong…

670 (reading), 560 (math), 610 (writing). UGH

I’m very overwhelmed lol.

2170 (750 CR, 710 M, 710 W)… better CR+W than last time but worse composite. Higher superscore though!

@bbbaaa784 I have a question for you: how do you score that high in Critical Reading? Give me some strategies lol, cuz I suck at reading. :((

  1. I know I could have done a lot better, though--particularly in the writing section, which seems to have screwed me over (730). I had expected to get an 800 on it.

And although I may sound pretentious complaining about it, literally everyone around me got a score higher than mine. It was quite depressing. Retaking in December because I know I can get a better score.

@tonystarkofwinterfell I have a question for you: how do you score that high in Critical Reading? Give me some strategies lol, cuz I suck at reading. :((

@YoohooAddict: Underline any given lines in long passages and then, when reading, answer the questions as you read–it really helps because you don’t try to use other parts of the passage to interpret your answer to the given question. Part of it is just getting used to the College Board’s format–every time you get a question wrong (by the way, only use Blue Book/official tests), look back at the answer choices and see why your answer was incorrect. Don’t make the same mistake next time. In addition, every time you’re stuck between two answer choices, choose the one that’s directly supported in the text, not the one that you interpreted. Play a game: which one can you prove wrong? Treat them both as if they are wrong and choose the one that best stands up to scrutiny.

ahhhh 2370…

Relieved bc its a good score, especially for my high school, but at the same time not as ecstatic as I might have been because this was my 3rd taking.

The first 2 times I got 2250 and 2220 because I was an idiot little sophomore.

Damn @collegenow111 That’s an amazing score. How do you guys do it lol? Man, ugh, I’m speechless.

Hey thanks @YoohooAddict I appreciate that

If only I got this score the first or even second time around…lol

Oh well, nothing I can do about it now haha
