High School Class of 2017

@sprights you are mee haha got a B in Pre-Algebra and really struggled with that class before finally getting an A thr next semester. But can ace the heck out of Pre-calc and Statistics …yikes

I’ve never gotten lower than an A in math, which is why I’m confused as to why I do so badly on ACT and SAT math…@Cece0499

@joeweller Hey, my counselor said the scores come out mid-December, so theyre basically a Christmas gifts (:

@sprights i think its mainly getting used to the SAT and its patterns. How do you usually do on SAT math ?

@Cece0499 Pretty bad. That’s why I stopped studying for SAT and decided with ACT. My ACT math score is better, not by much, but better lol

Anyone have tips for SAT Writing? Memorization isn’t my strong suit and I always blank out on examples when I write the essays.

(said by someone who got a 5 on the Lang exam)

lololol hey google sat grammar rules erica meltzer and you’ll find a list of 16 or so grammar rules memorize those!! also look up common sat idioms. furthermore, dont forget conjuction pairs! (not only…but also, just…so, etc.)

Is it just me or is it always awkward coming back from break? Everyone takes these awesome vacations, and I sit at home studying (or if I do go somewhere, I take my prep books or homework with me and stay in the hotel studying). When they ask me what I did, I don’t want to say “I studied” because they’ll think Im weird for not taking a break from school. I just say partial truths about family and stuff…

“I enriched my brain with new experiences and doing something that is all at once comforting and challenging, all while exploring new terrorities” so basically i read a lot which is fin and challenging and i read about a lot of diff places

@athenanv13 same, most of my friends already took the SAT so they’re hanging out together and having fun etc and I’m just sitting here glued to my prep books lol

@athenanv13 nooo. You tell others with gladness and honesty that you studied…continuously. Take pride in your hardwork and dedication.

I always hear that everyone else just did homework and studied over the break too and they complain about how they didn’t have time to do anything else. Maybe I just go to a weird school.

@dsi411 that is the case for my school as well…well for the hardworking students :stuck_out_tongue:

Yahhhh, my school is just full of nerds. All grade obsessed, competitive asses

@athenanv13 At least you studied over the break xD
I was planning to do more studying but didn’t xP

@sprights SAT math is more logical and is not formula based. You have to just practice with their style. Also, ACT math is so much easier xD

@sprights About all you can do I suppose, just got 4 books and did all the practice tests. Some more than once.

@athenanv13 That is my life. Think it’s because my family takes super boring vacations. They go somewhere cool and proceed to spend 90% of the time taking pictures. But I’m pretty much at the point where the majority of people at my school think I just study anyways even though I’m super lazy.

Class of 2017 Hype!

It really, really sucks knowing that you could’ve done so much more during your freshman and sophomore years. Not so much in terms of grades or standardized tests, but in terms of ECs.

I’m trying to make up for everything this year, but a 4.0 and a 2290 won’t do crap for me at some of my dream schools with my crappy ECs… The past won’t change, but christ, it’s crazy how much it hurts realizing that had I known what I know two years ago, I would be in a fairly comfortable spot right now.

School tomorrow :’(
