High School Class of 2017

It’s so vexing when you have perfect grades throughout most of a term, but then they decide to take a nose dive into chaos a week before the final…

I honestly like the SAT more but the science and reading sections help to dilute my math struggles so my composite score is better overall :stuck_out_tongue:

I have a snow day! I have an extra day to study for finals (I was really unprepared)

I’ve been doing well in AP Chem all semester compared to others in the class (~94), but that midterm just absolutely destroyed me.

Ugh still three more days of school. K i l l me.
We don’t even take our finals until January 20 and 21 because the school system is dopey. Instead, we get huge review packets to do over break. Like for Calc, I just got a 30 page packet to do over break. Yikes.

Hey, I got a 19 page packet last friday to do before this friday? I don’t really mind it though because I feel like I’ve studied enough by the time I finish the packet.

@jjundy Dang, my chem test is Thursday, and just like at your school, everyone at my school is saying that test was impossible.

Our official finals days are the last two days of school before winter break but some classes have them beforehand, so I will have these finals:
Thursday-
HL English - No finals, just a movie
SL Spanish- Read article and answer questions for the final
AP Bio- Regular final (Multiple choice and free-response, probably)
Friday-
APUSH- Unit Test (counts as our final)
AP Calc BC- Regular final, multiple choice and free response
SL Psych- Watching a movie, we’re doing our final on Wednesday

AP Bio, APUSH, and Calc BC at the same time? I would die if I had that schedule… @dsi411

Surprisingly struggling in AP Physics right now. My teacher makes really hard tests and they’re worth 85% of our grade. Not a single person in the class had an A

Hey @dsi411 what’s the difference in terms of difficulty between IB and AP? I don’t see why there needs to be two separate domains if they are so similar.

@deeeznuts I can’t imagine tests worth 85% … I stress over 20% finals lol.

@jjlundy They are not that different in difficulty, but IB emphasizes different things, such as looking at things from a worldwide perspective. Also, IB includes other things like TOK, CAS, and the EE, that you have to do to get a full IB diploma.

@Studious99 Actually, those three classes aren’t that bad, it’s IB HL English that’s the worst. Maybe because I’m not that good at it, hehe.

LOL at my school AP Calc BC is a nightmare and AP Lit is a joke @dsi411

I have my calc finals in two hours…D:

Watching all of my senior friends get their decisions from their early schools… it’s a fair share of joy and a fair share of misery. It must be such an emotional rollercoaster.

@pseudoprimal I KNOW RIGHT!! Last week one of the seniors in my school got into john hokpins med program but today the smartest kid in the senior class got deferred from princeton …soooo bittersweet

GUYS THATS GONNA BE US NEXT YEARRRR

My sister got into her early school, so she is done and completely relaxed now.

But I see all these other people being crushed by deferrals or acceptances. tbh I’m not looking forward to the process next year.

soo my sister got deferred from mit. into northeastern with small scholarship but we can’t afford it anyway… 4.8 and 2360 too. SIGH. My parents are upset but what happens happens.

@sprights That is too bad for your sister, but she has worked hard all through high school and done amazingly well. I’m sure she’ll get into a great school that is also affordable.

Did Northeastern not give her enough need based aid? Maybe she can appeal it or something.

Ag a bunch of my friends just got deferred from MIT :frowning:
