Does anyone know if we have to send official AP score reports when we apply or if we only self-report our scores and send them to the college we decide to attend?
So for the teachers who wrote our recommendations…should we send thank-you cards right after they’ve submitted their rec or in the spring when we know which college we’re going to?
I’m applying to UMD and for the essay, they give you 5 options, 4 of which have their own prompt and one for which you write your own question and respond to it. However, you only have to answer one question, so do you think it’s better to create my own question and answer it or to answer one of the other 4? Ya, also you can answer more than one question. So is it better to answer all the questions or to just answer one question, the bare minimum?
@YoohooAddict I think they would appreciate the “answering your own question.” But if you do that one, really think of a unique question that shows who you are and what you are about. If you really like one of the other four, then choose that one.
@YoohooAddict also, depending on how your stats compare to their typical admitted students, you could do more questions. I think it would demonstrate interest and your academic commitment. I would do it if you have time to do more questions well!
Hey everyone, been a ghost on this thread for a couple years lol. How is everyone doing applying to college? I just finished applying to all my schools yesterday Glad to be done.
@trent6543 Congrats. I’m trying to finish those damn essays.
Completed FAFSA today and our expected contribution is roughly $50,000. That’s insane and we can’t actually afford that. Now I’m on the hunt for non-need based scholarships (preferably no essays lol). Any suggestions?
@QueenOfBohemia omg that’s amazing congrats! i feel so behind, I’ve started my apps but I haven’t sent anything, and I haven’t even done the FAFSA yet. My parents say they’ll get around to it, but i always have to remind them.
