I’ve applied to 9/11 but I still have ten supplements to write for scholarship and honors college apps, so I feel nowhere near done.
@Saltypineapple Guess what? The portal updated today and my scores have been received! Haven’t been this relieved in a while
I can’t believe I’ve never posted in this thread before, but I applied to twelve schools and all my apps have been done for a while now. I did my last college-related thing tonight, though, which was filling out the CSS Profile. Have any of you had to do that as well? It was a real pain in the butt.
@outtahere2017 whaat congrats on being done!! I haven’t done the CSS Profile yet, but I need to soon…
Yes @outtahere2017! Almost had three breakdowns while completing the CSS Profile (since my mom made me do it for her). And getting my dad to fill out the noncustodial profile? LOL. Financial aid is even more of a struggle for kids with divorced parents IMO.
But hey! Here’s to hoping I filled it out correctly and men in gray suits are coming to get me.
It’s great that you’re done with so many applications. It’s just a waiting game now…
@eyrar99 thank you!! I started early–end of July. It’s a real relief now to just be mostly done. I’ve shifted into scholarship mode! Make sure you give yourself ample time to do the profile though–took me about 50 minutes.
@MissSuzyQ I relate! Filling out the profile was definitely a process for me, because I’m in a legal guardianship. FAFSA recognizes me as an independent student, but the profile? Nope. Had to put in all my guardian’s financial information, which is quite annoying considering he makes a decent living but will not be/is not legally responsible for contributing to my education. I explained that in the special circumstances section, so I’m just hoping that my colleges recognize that and don’t screw me over with aid.
Also, I agree. The waiting game has definitely begun. I hate it!!
So I just made one of the dumbest mistakes ever. I submitted my UIUC honors application but marked female instead of male for my gender. I am so embarrassed. I quickly sent an email to admissions apologizing and asking them to consider the updated info. I can’t believe I’m so stupid. I definitely won’t be getting in.
@penngirlpending Yeah it all seems to work out lol
I feel once I get accepted somewhere, I’ll be like 100x less stressed. The wait for admissions is killing me, even though I’m busy with other things.
I got into temple a few days ago! Very relieved.
I got my Indiana acceptance a few days ago! So much stress has been released but there’s still a lot of work to be done
@tigerman333 congratulations!! I also applied to Temple, and am waiting to hear back.
Question: When you all applied to Temple, did you get an email inviting you to make a TUPortal? Or did you do that yourself?
@coffee-and-cramming I got an email!
I feel so productive i finnally requested my transcripts sent in the sat score request thing and submitted my first college application! One down five to go. I…I…think i’m becoming a some what responsible adult
5/18 done. UC app submitted tonight.
Ugh. Emerson just asked for additional financial aid documents. I thought I was done with this stuff for now.
Do you guys tell your friends/classmates where you’re applying? I’m applying to 10 schools total (3 instate public, USC, stanford, harvard, penn, Notre Dame, Emory, Tulane) and I’d feel uncomfortable telling people where I’m applying. My school is a top 20 US news public school, so there are a lot of people applying pretty high up there. I Just wouldn’t want people to think I’m all that since I don’t think people consider me “smart”. The thing about going to a small school that has such an emphasis on academics is that people feel the need to judge your intelligence and are often patronizing about it, especially as a URM female.
I don’t really think I’ll get into any of the schools I listed besides the instate publics (which is actually just fine with me), so it’s not like I’ll have any awkward explaining to do.
@MissSuzyQ I also applied to emerson!!! What major did you apply for?
@outtahere2017 Journalism! What about you?
@ZBlue17 I tell close friends where I’m applying but not just peers.
