HOPEFULLY BURGER KING ACCEPTS ME. IF NOT I’M SWITCHING TO MCDONALD’S. IF MCDONALD’S REJECTS ME I’M GOING VEGAN.
It seems like everyone got rejected by the Coca Cola Scholarship
I got the Wendy’s heinsmen from my school and they gave me a certificate… it was so much work to apply, too, but the only people who got money were the national winners which was like seven stages away
I am a semifinalist.
@deeeznuts I just started and finished it! I’m waiting to submit it because I want to confirm with my contacts that it’s okay to list them in the app. Good luck to you!
@SingHar17 Nice! Do you think they’ll contact the people listed? I didn’t give them a heads up lol
@deeeznuts I just found it weird that they asked for both email and phone number, and that struck me odd, since the 8 or 9 scholarships I’ve applied for only asked for one or the other. It’s such a small thing, but it was just weird. I think I’m just going to submit it, because I’m assuming my advisors wouldn’t have a problem with it.
@SingHar17 Yea the same thing happened to me. I kept adding more schools.
But ive decided to not apply to UC schools. I’ll use what Ive written for something else. I just don’t want to apply to many schools in state. I guess I’m the type of person that wants to find there on path. I want to experience a differentI environment from what I’ve grown up in…Wish I could explain it better.
@eyrar99
My list has gone down. I didnt count all my schools from when I posted, I have a list in my phone with all my schools but I forgot to add a few. So I went from 18 to 13 schools. I’ve already applied to 6 this week. I’ve been in such a good mood because of this. I think I have a good amount of reaches and safeties. I’m applying outside the country too, so my main ‘reaches’ aren’t even in the US. But I have applied to US schools that Id really love to attend. In the end I may add two schools. I practically see my Guidance Counselor everyday and has helped make the whole application process easier. She helped me put in my grades for my CSU schools. Which was difficult because I had changed schools and my classes have been taken mostly online. So I had to make sure I did everything correctly.
So if you ever need help see your counselor. Or be like me and spend your lunch in your ‘college and career center’ if you have one. My friends and I are in there all the time working on apps and talking…talking alot but we still get things done.
@CollegeDayDreamer I feel so awkward because I told my recommenders that I was just applying to 4-5 schools, and I’m hoping to GOD that they don’t get a notification every time I assign them as a recommender on yet ANOTHER school.
That’s so cool that you’re from California! CA kids have such a different opinion on the UCs, because us OOS students are like dying to get into the UC schools and you’re all just ready to leave California. Such a weird dynamic.
I was rejected from coke as well :’)
did anyone take SAT biology? I’m still preparing for the last test date this Saturday
If you did, how did you study- how many practice tests and what scores did you usually get? What was your actual score in comparison? I’m so nervous!
@SingHar17 That’s true, if you asked me freshmen year I wouldn’t have thought abt appying OOS. But later that rear we read an artle in AVID about UC tuition and how it would be cheerier for us to go oos. Didn’t take it too seriously, but I visited a college fair with that class and was introduced to a ton of good schools that weren’t in Cali.
@SingHar17 not sure abt notifications. I think they’re notified in naviance and maybe common app
@CollegeDayDreamer Yeah, I guess CA students get the benefit of it being “easier” to get in, but the tuition kills everyone, so I get why you’d go OOS. Where are you looking at?
ugh if they’re notified for common app, my recommenders must be laughing at my indecisiveness
Guys I got accepted to Iowa State!! That was really quick!!
I was going to procrastinate, but I’ll do it tomorrow…ha. I am 19 and in my second year of college and I can tell you college and high school are nowhere near alike. There is more freedom in college which can be both good and bad. That freedom can be easily abused. Also, I have cried more these first two years of college than my entire junior high and high school careers combined. But, I have also laughed more. And have learned to love and embrace and enjoy both. Just keeping it real. You’ll do great!!
Who else got rejected from the Coke scholarship? Smash that like button
It’s so weird that class of 2017 people were posting on this thread since 2013. I’m so glad I wasn’t focused on college until this year… I actually enjoyed my middle/early high school years lol
@lhw1998 I had college in mind all through high school but made sure I prioritized doing things I loved and being good at them.
The UPenn ED thread is last year’s Harvard SCEA thread. 300+ new messages in two days? Wow.
PS: I, too, got rejected from the Coca Cola Scholars program.
