@thetex Also, it says that if you want to receive college e-mails from a few select colleges, each e-mail you get allows you to opt-out for the colleges you don’t like.
Good @thetex Opting-out also stops colleges from seeing your test scores.
And to anyone else not wanting all of the e-mails, I believe you specify where you want to go to college, as in which area or state.
Edit: Kind of wish I opted in. It would’ve love to receive an email or letter from my dream school, Virginia Tech. Anything that will get them to notice me.
Which brings me to ask a question. How would react, on a scale of 1 - 10, if you got an acceptance letter from your dream school? 1 being “I knew I’d get in” and 10 being a "Has a heart attackStarts to cryScreams in excitement to the point where the neighbors complain.
I’d probably be a 10 lol. I’m probably going to record my excitement on video.
Also, who would you want to be there when you open the letter or open the e-mail/check the website? Your parents? Your friends?
Oh yeah I almost forgot. My World History teacher said that we will be having a midterm-like test. It’s not really a midterm, it’s just going to be a mid-year test that will count as a classwork grade. She told us to not really worry about it. It’s really just to see where we our in the class. I also took a World History test yesterday that was pretty okay. I have a Chemistry test on Wednesday also.
Guys I just realized something. On Thursday, I went to my counselor, I had taken the Biology EOC test two days after I took the Geometry EOC test. Most of you of my situation with the Geometry test. Anyway, I just remembered that I got a 433/600 on that test meaning I passed. This means now I have two Science EOC’s passed and completed in order to graduate. This also means that I don’t need to take Advanced Earth Science senior year, as long as I get a score this year in Chemistry. So now I have an extra class slot which opens up alot of possibilities.
I might, or might not, take AP Physics now that I don’t have to take two Science classes. I post here later once I look over the course catalog and revise my classes for senior year.
Okay here is my new, revised senior year schedule:
1st Elective: Engineering Class (If the principal approves this course (Engineering Applications and Analysis II/Robotics))
2nd Elective: Programming
Science: AP Physics or Physics I
Social Studies: U.S. and Virginia Government
Math: AP Calculus AB
3rd Elective: AP Economics or Economics and Personal Finance
English: English 12
While looking through my school’s Principles of Engineering page, I saw that it was very Physics-based. So I had the idea of taking POE next year and if I get an A, I will contemplate taking AP Physics senior year. This is only if I am able to understand the formulas, which is the only thing, besides the workload, that has kept me from considering AP Physics. However, I have three options and this will be based on whether or not I take AP Chemistry or Physics next year.
Option #1 (AP Chemistry): I would take AP Chemistry next year and based on if I get in A in POE, which I am also taking next year, I will contemplate taking AP Physics I senior year. This would mean, however, that in order to balance my workload, I would not take AP Economics senior year.
Option #2 (Physics I): I would take Physics I next year and decide to not take AP Chemistry at all. Instead, senior year I would take AP Physics 2 or C. This will only happen if I get an A in Physics I and POE junior year. To balance out my workload, I would not take AP Economics senior year.
Option #3: If I choose to do AP Chemistry and don’t get an A in POE, I will take regular Physics I senior year. I will also take AP Economics senior year.
I know I can not use POE as good measure of which Physics class I should take, but based on what my teacher said and the sophomores that are currently taking it, it really helps.
@ak2018 I’m doing Honors Bio this year because I did Integrated Science which messed up my science class sequence. I took a Chemistry Prep Class last summer (2015) and covered topics like Stoichometry, Conversions and Balancing Equations for example.
Im pretty sure my junior schedule will look like this:
AP Physics
AP Calc AB
AP Lit
APUSH
AP Capstone thingy
AP Stat (?- this one is up in the air)
Latin 3
But this will be typical of all the top students in my class… Lord, help me.
