High School Class of 2018

@ak2018 I should probably mention French 7-8 is really just fourth year french (we just count by semesters). It’s not really impressive

@HelloThereHola I took Algebra I in 7th grade, then did Precalc/Trig over the summer after Algebra II. We also don’t do the whole AB then BC thing, you just take one or the other. I’m taking BC. So again- not really that impressive. Your schedule looks cool! Are you into history/government?

All of you guys don’t like getting college mail, but I love it, since I don’t really know where I’m going to apply to yet. If I’m getting contacted, I must be doing something right. :stuck_out_tongue:

@HelloThereHola I worry about this too. I think my one and only academic talent is writing, so I need to start entering more contests. orz

@wonderfulreads Now that’s impressive lol. I thought taking Calculus junior year was impressive. I would lie and say I am, but my school just has it set up that way. I think its pretty cool though. I love history, and I think it’s interesting. We have block schedule and those two classes are on an A/B schedule so that goes together well I think.

@leopardfire The struggle is real. I want to do something, but I just don’t know what. This stuff makes me feel pressured.

I wish we could do a block schedule. Or at least an optional zero hour. There are so many classes I want to take but no room

@nyuhopeful44 I wish you could too. Block scheduling is the best.

so since I see everyone else posting their tentative schedules I guess I will as well.

Criminal Justice Operations 3
AP Capstone Seminar
AP English Language & Composition
Weight Training 1 (S1)
Court Procedures (S2)
Pre-calculus Honors (If I can pull up my alg 2 grade this semester. School only offers honors)
AP US History
Physics 1 Honors

FLVS:
AP US Government & Politics (Summer before Junior year)
AP Computer Science A
AP Statistics (possibly)

@nyuhopeful44 I wish I had block scheduling as well. Have you guys heard of this program called FLEX. It’s where, for 40 minutes every other day, you go to get help in classes where you need it. It’s basically like study hall. Our school doesn’t have it though.

@Phantomlink What does “FLVS” stand for?

@ak2018 No, but it sounds like a good idea for those who need it. I’m sure my teachers would help me after or before school if I asked them, though, so it doesn’t seem completely necessary.

I feel like I would want it so I don’t have to stay after school. @LeopardFire I love to have a zero hour where we could take another class or self study.

@HelloThereHola That won’t be good for me, as well. I tend to think of myself as well-rounded because I do well(ish) in STEM and Music.

@LeopardFire I like getting college mail from schools I like, otherwise I’m just like “put it in the crapshoot.”

@LeopardFire Florida Virtual School

@Phantomlink You guys get to take online AP classes for free. I wish my state did that.

Oh and since the S.N.H.C. didn’t show up last night, I guess today’s the M.N.H.C. instead lol. Anyone staying up. I have a 1984 essay to write and a math test to study for.

@ak2018 I have to finish my take-home mid-term for English and finish my Semester 1 notes for WH in preparation for my mid-term exams tomorrow and Wednesday.

OMG @frazzledazzle I just realized that I technically have midterms as well. All at the end of the month. I have a Quarter 2 Test in both Algebra II and Pre-AP Chemistry, which is accumulative from quarter one. I also have a Semester 1 Vocab Exam in English as well as a not-so important midterm in World History.

I never even started studying for mid-terms yet, and I have a Bio and World History one tomorrow. Not so worried about WH, but Bio is going to be rough. Oh well, all nighter it is.

My school has a 6 week benchmark and a 12 week benchmark :frowning: That means its kind of like a midterm except its 1/3 of material taught. We can also exempt the finals if you have less than 3 absences.

@ak2018 yeah and it’s really nice, I’m taking AP Psych on there right now and the teacher just grades on completion so it’s a really easy A, although I’ll need to do a lot of studying later if I want to actually pass the AP exam.

I have an APUSH test that covers three chapters (we usually cover two each test) and I need to get a 95 (52/55) if I want an A in the class. So all nighter for me as well lol @ak2018
