High School Class of 2018

So as of now I have the lowest A- possible in math, feeling pretty relieved lol

lol nice! @nyuhopeful44

I’m good. I haven’t gone to school since last Wednesday, bit I’m okay.

@nyuhopeful44 It takes time for mail to come in. I opted-in for Whitman and didn’t get mail for at least a month or so.

@neonerudite I feel the way you do about UGA but, for me, it’s UMaine. I’m not opposed to going there, though.

@ak2018 There be a shoot ton of snow there.

Yeah @frazzledazzle

So guys I’ve got a problem. I have decided to set a goal to take 5 AP’s in the next two years. However I’m a bit concerned about when I should take certain AP’s. Here they are:
Class/Homework Load ( On a scale of 0 - 3)

AP Calculus AB/0 (They’re called independent work and are optional)
AP Chemistry/3
AP Economics/1
AP Human Geography/1
AP Psychology/1

What caused me too be concerned was the fact that I would have to take AP Psychology and AP Human Geography the same year. I feel like that would be a lot of memorizing. I really do want to take AP Psychology as the human mind is very interesting to me, however, you can only do it in the 12th grade. This would be my schedule now. I also definitely want to take AP Economics. I’m interested in AP Human Geography, but not as much.

Junior Year
Engineering Explorations I/Robotics
AP Economics or AP Human Geography
AP Chemistry
U.S. and Virginia History
Functions/Trigonometry
Spanish II
English 12

Senior Year
Principles of Engineering
AP Psychology
Physics
U.S. and Virginia Government
AP Calculus
AP Economics or AP Human Geography
English 12

So which combination would be better?

@ak2018 go with AP Economics. Most schools don’t give credit for Human Geo

I believe all of the schools I’m applying to give credit for it. VTech gives you credit for a 3,4, or 5 on the exam. @nyuhopeful44

What I more asking is which would be easier, class-wise. I might even decide to take AP Statistics or AP Computer Science (If they have it next year)

@ak2018 i havent taken ap calc or ap chem (but ive heard the latter is one of the hardest aps). For ap economics, ive taken ap micro and for it it was very very easy, but for others it was hard, so that one is up in the air. ap human was so easy that i didn’t go to that class for the 2nd semester and still got a 5. Im taking ap psych right now and its also very easy, purely vocab. I wrote an frq, didnt know any of the vocab they were asking for, and still got all the points lol.
But really, you can only base your schedule off of what you can handle and what your good at.

200 pages!!! <:-P <:-P

Thanks @neonerudite

@ak2018 I would still take econ, it’s more widely respected. I just signed up for intro to neuroscience on edx. I hope to finish by the end of this year!

@nyuhopeful44 Thanks! And that’s really great that your taking a course on edX. Also, would it even really be worth it to take AP Human Geography at all? I would honestly rather take that over AP English. Would it be better to take Statistics or Computer Science instead? Computer Science might not be available at our school next year.

@frazzledazzle Yes, that is definitely something to cheer about. <:-P <:-P <:-P

Should I consider AP Capstone? I’m going to E-mail all the AP Capstone, AP Human Geography, and AP Statistics teachers to see their take on the problem?

@ak2018 I personally think that any ap class would be better than human geography.

If @ak2018 I don’t think Capstone would be a good idea with your already “planned schedule.” Don’t make it too complicated for yourself.

@nyuhopeful44 I just emailed the AP Psychology teacher and she said to highly consider taking the class. Also, it is available to 11th graders.

When you use m=-b/2a for the slope of a line during trig class and lose 4 points on a math quiz ://///

@apple1893 I mean I feel like I’m very interest in Capstone as it seems like a research class. Do you know what it’s like?
