High School Class of 2018

3,000th Post Yeah baby! <:-P <:-P <:-P <:-P <:-P <:-P <:-P <:-P <:-P <:-P

The freshman are at a much higher pace than us

@ak2018 no, I don’t know enough but I’m sure college board could give you all the info you need

@reidd799 As someone has said in the past on this thread, we’re the ones who are likely doing more work.

@apple1983 I already went there. The information was not enough.

@ak2018 I should have seen that coming! Well, guess what. I am the 3,004th post

@Muufeen I feel the pain, except it was last year for Geometry. I had notated a line segment wrong, it was a very, very stupid mistake and it cost me like 3 points :frowning:

@tonyk16 Yup!

@nyuhopeful44 Also, I decided to replace AP Human Geography with AP Statistics. Now the question is whether or not I should do it junior or senior year.

Junior Year
Engineering Explorations I/Robotics
AP Economics, AP Psychology, or AP Statistics
AP Chemistry
U.S. and Virginia History
Functions/Trigonometry
Spanish II
English 11

Senior Year
Principles of Engineering
AP Economics, AP Psychology, or AP Statistics
Physics I
U.S. and Virginia Government
AP Calculus AB
AP Economics, AP Psychology, or AP Statistics
English 12

So tell me why it’s 3:53am and I’m currently watching a Spongebob episode about Procrastination and it’s so relatable!

@ak2018 my suggestion is Psych junior year and Statistics senior year. Those are easier APs and more focused toward math and science than Economics or Human Geography

I’m gonna finish this semester with a 4.16

I rethought my schedule (for the 922nd time lol) and have
Honors Precalc
AP Chemistry
AP Physics
AP English Literature
IB Spanish SL
Medical Interventions
I’ll have to take two classes over the summer but I think I’ll be able to handle this better than my other schedule. If it gets too hard I’ll drop physics for forensics and honors philosophy.

I haven’t been on here for awhile. I found out that they are thinking about adding AP Computer Science Principles, so I might have 5 APs next year. Hopefully it would still be a zero hour. The class has to make first though, so my fingers are crossed. If my class placements Don’t work out, I’ll only have 3.
AP Classes next year (hopefully):
Calc BC
Chem
US History
Comp Prin
Lang

@nyuhopeful44 I’m planning on taking AP Economics eventually. I guess the real question, which is apart of my fear, is if taking AP Statistics and AP Calculus AB senior year would be really hard. Also, if taking AP Economics and AP Psychology the same year would be hard as well. Which one would be less hard? AP Psychology would require a lot of reading of chapters, so paired with AP Economics might not be good. AP Statistics and AP Calculus seems like a lot of math, however I feel like I could handle the math.

@ak2018 I haven’t taken any of those, but from what I’ve heard is that all are easy with psych being the easiest. I would do that next year and then stats and econ senior year.

@nyuhopeful44 Thank you so much! Will do!

Has anyone taken AP Gov or AP USH? Is the material interesting? Was is a fun class to take? I’m so excited next year for them. I’m assuming no one has taken AP Calculus too, but if you have, tell me about that too!

@HelloThereHola I’m in APUSH now. It’s a lot of work but I think the material is pretty interesting, except there is some economics which I can’t stand.

My schedule:

World history honors
AP Calc AB
Chem Honors
French 4 Honors
AP Macro/Micro
AP Lang/comp (not sure about this, scared of course load)

For anyone worried about certain AP classes, like me, I would highly recommend going to the AP Test Preparation category on College Confidential and search for the AP class you’re not sure about. There are probably a lot of people who could answer your questions.

I just looked at the AP Psychology thread and @nyuhopeful44, you were right, it is a very easy class. And based on the course material, it seems pretty interesting. I’ll definitely take it.
