@ak2018 Wow o_o That’s great. You really annotated the entire book?? Our teacher had us annotate a few of the last chaptesr on notecards, but tbh I did more of a summary because I’m awful at annotating (we never did it all at my middle school or during freshman year). Is it hard to get into AP English at your school? The only (recommended, since you can waiver into any AP class) prereqs are a B- in honors or an A- in regular at my school. Just wondering, did you actually write in the book? Our teacher said she would love to have us do that, but we can’t because it’s school property and they reuse the books 
I did really poorly on the quiz for Frankenstein because I forgot to read the last chapter. The test was easy, because she gave us a list of quotes, and for the test we would get random ones and have to explain their significance and everything. So if you studied, you could have easily gotten a 100 
(She never graded either tho)
We’re doing 1984 right now, and I know next we read Caesar, The Glass Menagerie, Things Fall Apart, and The Joy Luck Club. I like 1984 a lot more than Frankenstein, but only because I can actually read the language :s A Separate Peace was probably my favorite book that we’ve read this year
@LosingCrayon I actually did annotate the whole entire book and it took me two months. Once we got to class, I was so mad when my teacher said the test was actually Wednesday. And then he proceeded to tell our end of semester/2nd quarter grades out-load to the entire class and said that no one would care! 
We then read one of my most favorite short stories ever: The Monkey’s Paw. 
We then had a discussion about it.
To answer the rest of your questions, it is not that hard to get into any AP class at our school. If a teacher doesn’t recommend you for a class, all you would need to do is have your parents sign a note that will overule your teacher’s recommendation. It just has to be sent in writing no later than June 17th.
Also, we had to buy our books, so we could definitely write. I bought Frankenstein for $1.50. I’m buying Julius Caesar soon.
1984 may seem easy to understand at first, but it starts to become complicated as it progresses. I honestly hated it.
My favorite book was Fahrenheit 451.

Good news guys! My marching band got selected to march in the National Memorial Day Parade in Washington D.C.! 
I think they only pick like 1 or a few from each state. This is great news!

So I’m not allowed to tell this to any of my friends so I’m just gonna say it on here cause I’m gonna burst. My sister (13) has had really bad depression for the last couple years. She’s been in and out of mental hospitals and on every medication in the book. I’ve had to hide knives and scissors from her, and had to tell my parents when she was trying to hang herself with a bed sheet. So today she had to go back to the hospital because she jumped out of our second story window right in front of me. She’ll be there for a couple weeks. I just had to get that off my chest because its been hard to go to school and act like nothing’s wrong.
How unfortunate that 13 year old children are going through mental illnesses like that. Hope she’ll be well soon. @nyuhopeful44

@averagebean I wish I was a bookworm. I bought The Fifth Wave like 3 weeks ago but haven’t touched it. The movie looks good lol. I started Just Like Us though! That’s required for me to read lol though. It’s about 4 Mexican girls and the issue of undocumented residents.
My favorite book series is probably the Divergent series (cliche I know)

@nyuhopeful44 I am also very sorry fo your sister. I went through something similar, but not that extreme, when I was 13. I too have experienced depression and hope that I will never face it ever again. I wish your sister well. Depressions usually start at that age as you are entering the teenage years.

On a lighter, I actually got two letters from Virginia Tech and VCU and I’m actually very happy. They include information packets about visiting campus and college planning. Hope I get more.
