@nyuhopeful44 Ok I understand now. I would say go talk to your counselor and try and get an AP exam wavier for all of your exams, if you are eligible. An AP exam waiver would decrease the cost of the test by $30 and the school’s price to buy the test by $7 - $9, so you would only have to spend $51 - $53 per test. Here’s the link to check if you are eligible: http://professionals.collegeboard.com/testing/waivers/guidelines/ap?excmpid=MTG54-ED-1-appub
With all this education talk, are you guys part of any cool clubs or sports teams? I’m part of the school’s debate team, swim team and track team but I do crossfit and teach piano outside of school.
@averagebean I’m part of Hospice Club! We did six months of training and I just had my first visit last week! It’s hard, but I feel like I can really make a difference! A lot of the patients don’t have family that visits them so they are really lonely…
I also do recreational gymnastics once a week. I really like it but I think I’m going to switch to yoga/ Pilates soon.
@averagebean I am planning on doing Cross Country next week.
@ak2018 thanks for the info! There’s no way I would qualify for one of those fee waivers tho. My parents just have a lot on their plates with my sister’s stuff and I don’t want to add to it. I’ll probably save up as much as I can and procrastinate on telling them.
@averagebean I’m secretay of Key Club and I’m running for Lieutenant Governor, Founder/ President of a disabilities inclusion club, softball (both for the city and my school), and genetics club. I hope to join HOSA, Link Crew, and NHS next year.
@averagebean I’m the treasurer of FRC robotics team at school and a rock climbing team outside of school. I’m also going to el Salvador to be a counselor for this thing called “camp Salvador” which is a summer camp for the kids in a little ex-refugee village next summer so I’m going to meetings and planning for that, and I play violin at church and the school orchestra. I was also on the math is cool (a math competition in my state) team this year, but we don’t really meet, and I mentor younger kids in robotics.
@ak2018 Awesome! I loved X-Country but our season was only 1 month long Have fun!!
@sewin2music That’s actually so cool! We don’t have that kind of thing here unfortunately but I’m glad you’re enjoying it!
@snowfairy137 @nyuhopeful44 Wow, you two have some prestigious club positions.
Does anyone else do robotics?
Me OMG ME @snowfairy137
OMG I literally screamed when I saw what you wrote lol @snowfairy137 I LOVE ROBOTICS! ROBOTICS IS LOVE, ROBOTICS IS LIFE! :))
@ak2018 YAYY!! What program are you in?
I was in VEX for the last 5 years now @snowfairy137 I’m going to be taking a Engineering Explorations I/Robotics class next year where we will be building Robotics and competing in competitions around the state and around the county. Even at some of the state colleges. We’ll be competing in VEX, FRC, and Seapearch (Underwater Robotics).
@ak2018 wow, good luck with that! This is my 6th year in robotics, I started and was in an FLL team for 4 years and FRC for the past two. I’m planning on taking a robotics class at a local college senior year which should be fun
Wow @snowfairy137 That should be fun! Wish I could do that! Have you ever been to a championship?
@ak2018 I’ve been to a lot of state championships. My team qualified for FIRST Worlds last year but didn’t have the money to go
@ak2018 hbu?
@snowfairy137 Sadly, our team didn’t make it past the second competition. I rarely went to the meetings after October as I was focusing on my grades. I’m definitely going to focus next year especially with the new Robotics class.

@ak2018 ahh that sucks. Good luck next year tho!
Thanks @snowfairy127 Good Luck to you too!
