@BucketsUCSC Same tho
My standards have gone so low since the start of the school year LOL. I was aiming for Yale and Harvard material grades but now, I think I’ll be fine with a Canadian university. McGill would be my aim.
i hAtE scHOOL!!!
but I feel privileged to have school, ya know? At least I’m not starving in Africa.
I just ran net price calculators on the colleges I was looking at and feel very disheartened.
@BucketsUCSC @apple1893 I mean it was required for school, but that’s besides the point lol :))
My school finally gave back our paper PSAT scores lol
You guys… I actually now know my school’s grades are probably inflated lol. I have a 4.0 and am number 1 class rank currently, yet I only got a 1260 on the PSAT. I’m sure some of you don’t have 4.0s or are number one and got much higher
@HelloThereHola Hmm, that is interesting I suppose. I didn’t take the PSAT, but I am good friends with the person that is number one in my class. I will ask him what he got, and I will get back to you on that. Wouldn’t surprise if my school’s grades are inflated too. I know one of my other friends got like in the 1150 range and he is 21st in our class.
So I have an 87% in French. Well, thanks pop quizzes! X(
I try so hard in my school, and I can’t average more than a 91% (in whole). Guess I’ll have to try even harder . @HelloThereHola @tonyk16 :-??
@apple1893 I am so glad I took Spanish because it is considered to be the lighter language course to take at my school. The teacher just makes it very easy and there are hardly ever pop quizzes.
I find a direct correlation that when I read more, such as say the Bio textbook or history books, I get less nervous on tests and have better grades. Not saying that I don’t study on top of that, but just for leisure I will read a lot. It has worked for me so far. Taking good notes is also another good tip too, especially in Bio for me when there is a “lecture”.
@tonyk16 Thanks! It would be interesting to see how we compare.
@apple1893 Your school is probably a lot harder than mine then. I mean I study and make sure I know everything, but the tests are so easy. Even kids who don’t study at least make Bs.
@tonyk16 At my school, one of the Spanish teachers give a lot of bonus, so that’s good xD And there aren’t any pop quizzes ever. I think I had a 107. All classes aren’t like this though, only hers lol
@HelloThereHola Getting 1260 puts you at around the 90th percentile for sophomores… I wouldn’t call that a bad score. However, I got a score similar to yours and I would probably lucky to to be in the top 25% of my class, so I guess it just depends on the school.
@averagebean The more I learn about college, the lesser my goals are and the more I stress. :s I remember looking up Emory in eight grade and getting excited because they were well-known for writing, now I don’t know if I even want to do anything with writing, and I probably could never get into the college anyways. I just hope UConn takes me in…
1260 is greater then the 9oth percentile i believe it puts you around 93ed or 94th percentile
yep @HelloThereHola. I got a 1440 on the PSAT and I’m ranked in the low 30’s out of 440 kids. All the kids in the top 10 got at least 1450 and the average was around 1460.
@LeopardFire @BucketsUCSC Its actually 96th percentile lol. I guess that means people at my school are dumb. Not really lol but oh well. I work hard for my grades
@Hamlon If I have enough time today at lunch, I wouldn’t mind looking at your thread. I’ll have lunch from 10:44am - 11:14am EST.
@HelloThereHola I just got my PSAT papers back this morning. It came so late that it’s not even necessary for me. I got a low score of 990, but I’ll definitely improve next year.
@ak2018 Thanks!
My school doesn’t even give the PSAT
