High School Class of 2018

@ak2018 I used to be a Teen Wolf fanatic. I should start watching again but during the summer because if I get behind in APUSH watching Kitchen Nightmares, who knows what’ll happen if I start rewatching a series.

@Hamlon My spring break is only a four-day weekend! Enjoy your TV binge. I could use one of those.

Wait, when do all of you have spring break? Mine starts April 11th. That seems way later than some of yours.

@neptuna I probably should join SNHC, since I have Bio and English tests tomorrow… but I’ll probably end up playing video games instead tonight. :stuck_out_tongue:

Anyone watching House of Cards season 4? It’s so good, I won’t lie, I’ve watched 11 episodes so far this weekend…

I’m going to join SNHC because I have to take a quiz, start an application, start an essay, and read some of a book. I have a lot to do :frowning:

I’m definitely joining the SNHC tonight. I spent this weekend binge watching fuller house. Anyone seen it?
@Hamlon I’m not doing anything for spring break but sometime in April my mom and I are going to New York to tour NYU’s campus

Have any of you guys seen Don’t Hug Me I’m Scared on YouTube? I’m OBSESSED with it.

@ak2018 Yes! I can’t wait until episode 6.

Yeah finished season 4 of house of cards and watched the BMS: Rise of Thadland movie…

YOU WATCH BMS. GREATEST SHOW OF ALL TIME I BINGE WATCHED IT IN 1 WEEK LAST YEAR. RECOMMENDED IT TO ALL MY FRIENDS AND SOME OF THEM WATCHED THE ENTIRE THING IN TWO DAYS

@BucketsUCSC Ok that show is pretty funny but after Season 1 it just keeps declining… Believe me I LOVE it, it’s just very repetitive and really only chicks and drugs

dont care much about any other shows.
only thing worth watching this year:
ATTACK ON TITAN SEASON 2

When are you guys planning to start studying for AP exams (if you haven’t already)? I’ll probably order my review books soon.

@thetex YESS!!! I have the biggest girl crush on Mikasa. I find Eren a little annoying though. In my opinion, Levi would have made a better main character.
@neptuna I’ve already started. Spring Break was around when I started studying for the AP exam last year, so I figured it would be a good idea to do that again. My AP World teacher gave me a copy of an Ethel Wood study guide and Experiencing World History for free. I’m really glad he was nice enough to do that. I also bought two study guides for AP Computer Science, but I’m not exactly sure how to study for the exam. I’m just planning on going over a couple topics I’m a little fuzzy on. My thing with tests is that I need to feel confident in most areas before I take them or else I do bad no matter how well I knew the material that was present on the test.

@reidd799 yeah it’s not a serious show but I love how they make storylines out of the stupidest problems. And I thought season 1 was good but Season 2 was amazing as well as season 3 i thought the show got better. But the movie was extremely stupid

@neptuna I’m focusing on the ones I’m self studying (Psych and Euro) and then I’ll probably start reviewing the ones I’m taking classes for (APUSH and Bio) in Aprilish or so. I already bought prep books to help me with the in-class tests

I just found out the best thing ever! IHOP is giving out free pancakes all day long for charity! I woke up craving pancakes, so this is already a pretty good day for me. :D/
@ak2018 I just found out that Janelle Monae and Taraji P. Henson are co-stars in this movie called Hidden Figures. I love both of them on their own, but together? Just wow! The movie is about the space race and a group of African-American female mathematicians that were involved in one of the biggest NASA operations in history. I can’t believe we don’t learn about them in history class. I’m going to beg my dad to let me pre-order the book when it comes out in September. I hope it’s more successful than The Imitation Game and that is saying something because it is still one of my favorite movies. Hollywood is finally giving me some intersectionality!!! =D>

@Hamlon Those two are going to SLAY the masses together :)) I love Janelle’s music and her hair is always on fleek! You can tell she puts in the effort everyday. I don’t know why I’m not watching Empire. I think I just heard about it really late and then there was all this hype. Maybe I’ll watch it this summer. I was able to get to the third episode and I knew I was going to like it. I love Taraji’s clapbacks. Lol “Shutup Dora” =)) But I’d definitely see that movie. Also, I didn’t know it was free pancake day. I stopped eating pancakes when I was around 11.

@Hamlon Good for you! I’m actually quite nervous to start studying. I didn’t study at all in middle school and barely did in freshman year, so studying is a pretty new practice to me and my methods probably aren’t the best. But I guess the fact that prep books are study guides will help. I think with AP Comp Sci you’ll be most prepared by redoing concepts instead of just reading about them, so keep that in mind.

@nyuhopeful44 I just bought my prep books today. The Princeton Review for APUSH and then 5 Steps for AP Macro. Taking 4 AP exams as a sophomore is impressive. Good luck!

Guys, I think this is going to be my quarter. I currently have 4 A’s and 3 B’s. Also, after some careful consideration, I’ve decided I will be doing AP English Language. We would only have to read 3 chapters a week and I really need to improve my essay writing. So I’ll definitely be taking it, even with AP Chemistry. I know, with enough skill and hard work, I can make at least a B. I have an A in Honors English 10 right now. It’ll be a challenge, but I think I can do it. Now that I’ve decided here’s my schedule now:

Engineering Explorations I/Robotics
Open Elective (Maybe Principles of Engineering or AP Psychology, both are weighted)
AP Chemistry
U.S. and Virginia History
Functions/Trigonometry (Pre-Calculus) (Weighted)
Spanish II
AP English Language

After talking with my Engineering teacher, he told me that the Engineering Explorations I/Robotics (which is a school course) and Principles of Engineering (PLTW course) are basically the same, so I might not take it.

Any comments would be much appreciated.

Have you guys gotten a teacher you connect with really well and knows you inside out? I’m thinking ahead for teacher recommendations for future situations, and I am really bad at talking to teachers. I think I’m scared of them… I guess I should find at least two and get them to know me lol
