@BucketsUCSC I get why colleges do affirmative action but I’m saying it isn’t fair to whites and asians
@nyuhopeful44 I am doing SAT Math 1
Quick Question: Is anyone planning to start the AP threads on CC? I might start the AP Chemistry and English Language threads on CC in May. Would that be too early?
@ak2018 is it too early? probably not but like why even bother tbh, they’re all dead anyway except for like apush and calc.
I agree with you @nyuhopeful44 I feel it isn’t fair either but thankfully the UC’s don’t have affirmative action
@gormar099 I believe the AP Chemistry is pretty active.
I was gonna do some prepwork/studying for AP Chem and BC Calc over the summer so I think May would be a good time to start!
@ak2018 @nebulium dang you guys are thinking way into the future. I was gonna start my summer homework and prepping in Julyish but tbh I will probably procrasinate until the week before school starts.
OMG guys! I have officially entered the world of KPop and JPop. I started listening to Sistar’s Touch My Body and it’s been a wild ride for the last three hours. Lol
Oh and Happy Easter to anyone who celebrates.
@ak2018 YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAS KPOP. Listen to Adore U by Seventeen. I’m absolutely obsessed. Boy in Luv by BTS is amaze too. Also, If You Do by Got7 is one of my current favourites. LIsTeN!!!
@ak2018 My sister had an obsession for kpop when she was in 10-12th grade.
I haven’t gotten too much into kpop, but lately I’ve been listening to Hello ******* by CL nonstop. It makes me feel so much cooler than I actually am lol
@averagebean I listened to the songs you suggested and they were great.
S.N.H.C. anyone? Lol. I have to finish an essay for my online class and also complete a discussion board for it. I also have to study for Spanish and do math homework.
@ak2018 Yayy I’m glad. Welcome to the Kpop world!
@HelloThereHola I don’t have school tomorrow, Spring Break ends on Monday and we go back on Tuesday. I also don’t have any homework, thank God ^:)^ , but I’ll probably brush up on some Chemistry. I’m pretty sure I failed the last test die to stress and testing anxiety, or anxiety in general.
Has anyone ever had a test where they blanked out and completely forgot everything?
@HelloThereHola Math and science homework takes the L for me.
@ak2018 I agree with you. Colleges don’t add these points because they believe minorities are themselves inferior, they do it because a lot of us are forced to go to inferior k-12 schools. I’ve seen articles that say schools are even more segregated today than they were in the 50’s. Nowadays, its economic segregation. My school only has as much as the local community which isn’t anything really. Freshman year a teacher said to me she doesn’t care if any of us went to college or ended up a manager at Taco Bell. She just wanted us out. Teachers always seem surprised at my grades and I already know why. They never assumed I was smart. No one encourages us to do anything to the best of our abilities. Most of us never reach our potential because of that. Affirmative Action isn’t truly about race, but missed opportunities (economic, social, etc.) I’ve seen the valedictorians of other schools in my district go to community college because no one took the time to sit them down and tell them they add options. Heck, in seventh grade, I truly thought community college would be my only option and anything else a dream. I knew we were poor and I knew that tuition at the state school would be a huge amount of our income. I didn’t know about all the loans or grants out there and I still feel like many of my classmates won’t know until it’s too late. My parents have always said to me that because of the way I look I have to be one step ahead to end up at the same place as a less-qualified male, Caucasian person, or Asian. No one automatically assumes them to be less competent compared to an African-American female. My mother had a master’s in her original country, but can barely find a job as a nurse because people assume that she is incompetent. While I wish affirmative action was purely economic, I know that colleges need/want their donors. I’m not trying to offend people, I just hope you guys can see the other perspective.
@HellotherHola @ak2018 I havent been in school since March 11th (Spring Break), but I am joining S.N.H.C tonight! because I have lots of work, even though school starts Tuesday.
@Hamlon You brought light to a topic which I thought I understood, thank you for educating me more than my classes.
@ak2018
“Has anyone ever had a test where they blanked out and completely forgot everything?”
Once in eight grade I did that on a quiz everyone got an A on, but that was back in like 2013. I am not that student anymore lol, not even close.
