High School Class of 2018

@sewin2music I’m in the same situation, but I’m just taking AP Stats senior year :confused: My counselor told me about this thing they have for people to go to a local college, but it requires missing most of the school day for a single class and I don’t think it would be worth it really. Maybe I can take night classes or something tho, but I’m just gonna wait and see because I’m not worried much :slight_smile: I’d just do whatever most people at your school do

@Hamlon Oh yeah. Our third quarter doesn’t end until next week. The gradebook closes on April 18th. Also HAPPY BIRTHDAY! <:-P <:-P <:-P <:-P <:-P <:-P <:-P <:-P <:-P <:-P <:-P <:-P <:-P <:-P <:-P <:-P

Hello 2018 , I am a mom of D2021, can I ask you guys/girls a question?

When D21 is 9th grade she will be in preAP Bio, preAP Chemistry and preAP Alg II.
My question is do you guys think she can do AP Chemisty in 10th grade with preAP preCal
11th grade AP physic 1, AP BC cal
12 grade AP C physic and Cal 3 at /Linear Alg at CC

The thing is AP chemistry will be very hard, but if she could do it in 10th grade then she will only have 1 science class in 10th -12th.
I hear preAp bio is easy, so I thought of pairing with preAP chem.

Goal is to graduate with both AP chem and AP physics C in science.

Thank you guys!

@Hamlon Happy Birthday!

@VANURSEPRAC Thanks for coming to us for advice! Your daughter seems very smart by just noticing her potential schedule. I know plenty of people who have done AP chem and pre calc and have done just fine! Therefore you should, but if your daughter shows signs of stress (before the school year begins of course) make some adjustments if need be.

Also, If she graduates high school in 2021, that means she is in 7th grade right now. Although that is great for you to think about her future (my parents did the same), I recommend you also let her take a peak at this scheduling process, so she understands why these classes are important, and such.

Best of luck to your daughter!

@Hamlon Happy Birthday! Eat lots of cake cuz treat yo’self girl ayyy lmao

@VANURSEPRAC What @apple1893 said. :)) That was some pretty good advice.

I just joined this forum, and would just like to say HIGH SCHOOL GOES BY FAST!!!

@ak2018 lol Thanks!

Thank you so much guys, D21 approves of this schedule and she is very academically focused. will probably do some chemistry summer before 9th grade so she has some under her belt.
I wish all you 2018 kiddos the best, I know your parents must be very proud of ya’ll!

@Hamlon congrats!!!
@VANURSEPRAC As someone taking both Chem Honors and Bio Honors this year, I can attest that it is absolutely amazing. It opens up many doors (at least at my school it does, and probably at your daughter’s too) and the two courses compliment each other really well. I won’t sugarcoat it, it isn’t easy to do, but if your daughter can handle it, it is a great idea. AP Chem as a sophomore shouldn’t be too hard especially if she gets the right background in her preAP Chem. My only suggestion is to maybe not take both Physics APs, since there is a fair amount of overlap in the two courses and she would gain more by taking AP Bio (only if she wanted to, of course) but that’s probably getting ahead of ourselves.

@hipsterical Welcome to the 2018 thread!

Is anyone here apart of a Model United Nations team?

@hipsterical Yes, I am.

Are there any conferences coming up for you soon?

@hipsterical Hello and welcome to CC’s official High School Class of 2018 Thread. Here you can interact with other users who have the same high level of interest about school as you. Here, we talk about almost everything associated with school and our daily lives as well. During this time of the year, as I’ve seen so far, we’ve been talking about course selections for next year as well getting ready for junior year. We’ve also talked about school sports and clubs, current grades, internships, summer programs, scholarships, and so much more. Anything you can think of pertaining to school, specifically sophomore year centered, we’ve probably talked about it. This thread, as I’ve seen throughout the past three months, can also be used to talk about personal issues as well. The students on here a very supportive bunch and have helped me figure out problems as well as help me through some of the most stressful times during this year. So, this thread can also be used as a way to de-stress and relax. If you have any questions about anything pertaining to this thread, just reply. Hopefully, you’ll stay for the long haul all the way until graduation. I’ve been on this thread for 3 months now and I’ve got to say, it can be pretty addicting. Hope you have a nice time on this thread. Virtual Handshake

I’m probably just gonna keep doing this! :))

Hey guys. Usually I just use this account to stalk around cc, but since next year is going to be my most rigorous year, I decided to interact. How does this work?

@imagineheaven Well I guess I’m gonna have to do this again.

@ak2018 I’m so thrilled! Thanks for the welcome

@hipsterical You’re welcome!

Is anyone joining the S.N.H.C. tonight?

I have two small projects for World History and Health and I have my Chemistry test on Stoichiometry tomorrow.

@hipsterical The S.N.H.C., by the way, if you don’t already know, is the Sunday Night Homework Crew/Club. It’s just a little thing we do here on Sunday nights to get our homework done, since some us, me included, procrastinate when it comes to doing homework on weekends. So if you have any homework you’d like to do, go ahead and join.
