For S.N.H.C. I had to do a practice test for APUSH. I didn’t do the long essay, but I did do the DBQ and let me tell you I am so proud of myself. In 55 minutes (10 of which were spent reading the documents) I wrote 618 words, and my essay actually makes some sense! I feel more confident for the actual AP exam now. I definitely have to keep practicing though.
@neptuna That’s great, keep trying!
Almost forgot that tomorrow starts the beginning of our school’s spring sprit week. Monday is School Spirit Day, Tuesday is Decades Back (Throwback) Day, Wednesday is Tropical Day, Thursday is Country vs. Country Club Day (Or, as my school would call it, The Rednecks vs. The Preppy Aeropostale Buttoned-Downded Shirt Wearing Kids), and Friday is Class Color Day.
For School Spirit Day, we have to wear lots of blue and gold. For Decades Back Day, I’m gonna just do what I did for Halloween and be a kid from the 60’s, leather-jacket and all. I don’t know what I’ll do for Tropical Day, I don’t have anything tropical lol. Maybe I’ll wear sandals. For Country vs. Country Club Day, I’ll dress up as a preppy guy, like I normally do. My school has A LOT of rednecks, so that day should be fun. :)) For Class Color Day, the sophomore class color this year is yellow. For juniors, it’s blue, for seniors, it’s black, for freshmen, it’s white. When we’re juniors next guy year our class color will be blue.
SNHC! Study for Algebra 2 quiz and read/write for English. I predict sleep time will be 12:45. What about you giuys?
Maybe midnight for me! @apple1893
Nice, get that early rest in! @ak2018
Yup @apple1893
I am going to start with Alg 2 cause it is more fun, then I’ll do English cause I’m a weenie and can’t read.
Lol @apple1893
Hi everyone! I am also new to this thread. I am curious what your summer plans are as mine are up in the air as of now. I applied for NASA SEES and am waiting for my rejection lol.
@KG5APR WELCOME! Mine are up in the air also lol. I applied to four summer programs at: RPI, MIT, Cornell, and my local Science Center. I am going to keep positive until then but in worst case scenario, I’ll take Statistics at local Community College.
@Hamlon not sure why i said “congrats” to you earlier lol, i meant happy birthday!!!
@apple1893 Cool! Those sound like really good programs!
I don’t have a concrete backup plan if I don’t get into NASA SEES or UCAR PRECIP. I, however, might apply for an internship at a local company.
I have a test for bio and humanities tomorrow morning, and I’m watching cat videos…
I procrastinated all my homework over spring break and I’m going to have to pull an all nighter. :-t
eh same
I’m so mad at my English teacher… she still hasn’t returned the essays we turned in back in January.
She told us Friday before last that she’d have them graded by the end of the day.
@OneNormalKnight I’m in the same boat. My Algebra 2 teacher hasn’t graded anything of mine in two months. :-w
@neptuna @OneNormalKnight In my county in Virginia, teachers must submit at least one grade per week.
Also, would you mind giving some advice to a parent on the Parents of the HS Class of 2018 Thread? Her daughter isn’t doing well in Honors Chem. Here’s their situation:
"Anyone’s DC taking Chem Honors and struggling but found a way to overcome? My DD’18 knows the material, can do in class worksheet and homework with perfect score but somehow did really poorly on tests! This is weighted class, so her teacher said he doesn’t need to teach them, the students took this class should be capable of self-study and figure out how to do the homework. My DD spends most of her time watching YouTube videos and Khan academy videos learning Chem this year, but can only helped her with homework but not tests! Anyone can offer good tips, online tutoring, etc to help her preparing for the final?? " Her username is jjkmom. If anyone has any advice for her, here is the thread link: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/class-20xx-community/1599311-parents-of-the-hs-class-of-2018.html#latest
I have a question for you guys. As you may know, earlier this year I failed my Geometry EOC. I retook it in January, and passed by two points. As you also know, I’m aspiring to become a mechanical engineering. I asked my Engineering teacher about it and he said, when it comes to Engineering, don’t worry about it. The only math you need for POE, which I’m taking next year, is at least Algebra I and Geometry, and some Trig. SAT, and ACT, it might cause a little bit of trouble for me. I actually tested out of Geometry, but found out that the test I was given was a placement into Geometry, not out of Geometry. I got a 90% when I took that test. Now that I finally passed the geometry EOC, I had a 67%, which is still passing. I think I simply just forgot everything after that test. Any thoughts about my situation?
